Starview1 Box Help

Hi there people excellent forum love it , anyways just a quick question bit of noob but we all gotta start somewhere my friend has a star view box think its version 1 cause just says starview on front and is small silver one anyways he is hardly getting any channels its in the dundee scotland area, i have tried entering keys manually but not sure if right ones i have the magic toolbar with all keys and files or will i need an update sorry if this has been covered but cant seem to find exact answer looking for.
The code is saying ntl but its a virgin feed do i change this if so how? thanks in advance

Hi and welacome to DK

the latest firmware for the SV1 is the crypstar v1.5 core 400 for genuine boxes core 257 for clones, if you are unsure use the core 257 clonesafe version as this is ok for both.

you are ex Telewest so you need to scan on TW and keys for 5A01

Hi there is it easy enough to add these bin files ill need to purchase a cable first, then what software do i use to upload to the box? just the name is fine as got access to all these files ill let you know how i get one iv tried changing to telewest but its still saying ntl in the nagra secret menu any ideas? thanks in advance.

last post of mine should have said 5A01 not 5C01

if you change the number to 5A01 in the provider ID it will change to Telewest

if you want to scan in the installation menu (edit as MTV indicated)

if you want to input k*ys in the nagravison screen

you need a rs232 NULL modem cable to connect box to PC, if your PC does not have a rs232 port you will also need a usb to rs232 adaptor
once box is flashed with latest firmware it will automatically update codes

it would work but you would need a gender bender (female to female) as that has a male end and the box has a male end, easier to get the two seperate cables
