Starview HD Combo LAN & NON LAN STBs

Hi Im new to this so I maybe asking a really silly question:
I currently have a Starview HD Combo plus box, with the LAN port on the back. I can see majority of the channels however Ive got limited HD channels, such as veiwing non FTA in HD (ie S**y S***ts in HD). Any one with any ideas how to get these channels? Your help will be much appreciated

You can't get Sly hd channels on this box. You only get about 7 hd channels that are broadcast by Virmin

As long as you have got both Sat and Cable hooked up you record on sat whilst watching cable and visa versa

ive got this starview hd combo..got both the cable side and sat side connected up...cable side working fine..get all hd channels that virmin broadcast....sat side..i get all the hd channels that sky uk are broadcasting via CS...at the moment im seeing which cs is the best...you need to test a few out as most promise glitch and freeze free viewing but thats is not the case..also dont pay anyone who is asking for a full years sub in advance cos u dont know when the server will go down...pay monthly...

Unfortunately am having problems with this file.

i have hd combo lan, am using the said file, have formatted usb using stb, have tried loading fta firmware with same problem: failed check usb at 30percent.

have found a file in sv down load section dated yesterday uploader lips, but no comments and not sure whether to use it.

pease help.

I am trying to download firmware for a Starview Hd box for my father in law, as he hasn't got a clue how this all works. Will it upload to the box via the rs232 lead that i got with my eurovox, as he has had no leads supplied? Thanks, this is a really useful forum!!

i think the firmware is loaded via usb stick!

Hi m8, look here for the latest firmware for your box.

Make sure to load the correct firmware because there is firmware for LAN and NONE LAN box.
Also its best to use a USB pen/stick to load firmware to this box.

I've completed the download for both files, but Windows says that it can't open them. Any suggestions on the best/most reliable program to use?? Thanks. ( I'm using windows 7)

you dont need to open the file bud.

bear in mind that i have not been succesful in loading the firmware to my box, but i followed carefully theguide by satsmo in the stickys, i suggest you take a look, pls let me know how youget on.
