Hi tried couple of time but can't change mac add. it just greyed out with Aoooooooooooooo. Tried differnt softwares but can't reverse to old grover from carling. please help

There is a problem with the new firmware, you will have to wait for a new patch to be released before this MAC problem is resolved. Try loading the ireland firmware>Digital Kaos - Downloads - Starview Combo LAN Ireland CS U524 26/05/10

Any update in regard with the mac add. how to change from Aoooooooooooooooooooooooo to the SV ......................?

For those with 0A:00:00 problems. This post recently appeared on an other forum. Anyone any views?
"I doubt that there will be a release of new firmware which will allow users to be able to change MAC addresses ... you have to understand that the firmware suppliers or share hosts ... need a way to know when the cable share has been activated on a box in order to set a 1 year limit on the server, If you were able to delete everything to a full factory reset and then change MAC address of box (which would in essence give the box a new identity) then you could in theory run on the server indefinately ... the server hosts have to combat this possibility .. and best way to do it is to stop the ability of either going back to an older firmware and/or stopping the change of MAC address ... which they seem to have done in both cases".

I received my starview HD Combo plus box yesterday, 15/06/10. I loaded the grooverider and bootfile, I did the scan (cable auto search) following the advice on the site and it worked magic. In all I got 285 TV channels plus HD channels and 57 radio. The only channel I missed out is Sky sports HD. But I'm getting all the non FTA channels I used to get on my Boxsuperusb. Thanks everyone for the steps provided above. I hope I can help s'one else with my little experience. Just let me know.

Any Idea why we can't go back from carling to grooverider? I think if go back to Grooverider then would be able to change the mac address. Any help available in this reverse back from carling to grooverider plz?

Hi,
since I put Starview Combo LAN Ireland CS U524 26/05/10 firmware on box keeps rebooting randomly,any ideas how i stop this?

Hi Guys I am new to these Starview but bought a hd combo received it yesterday, tried to get it working to receive the non FTA channels as i ws told it would am i right that i can receive these channels or has the nagra 3 messed all boxes up. It has the lan port on it, I have downloaded various firmware but cannot get the non FTA channels on cable side, Thanks Stu

I would say go back to the dealer and ask for the latest patch otherwise return your box. I would also suggest to all please do not buy any box until the problem is sorted. Otherwise just waste of money!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Eventually i think i am getting somewhere, phoned a guy who was advertising these boxes with the firmware, he is going tomsend me a disc with the firmware and how to install it, down side he is charging 20 quid but worth it to get it working, if you need his number i will pm it to you cheers Stu
