help plz on starview combo

ive bought a hd combo and iam looking for the right files to put on to make it work with cable
ive had a look but how do i tell witch 1 to download that right for my box

Hi m8, there are two different filed, one for the LAN box and other for the NON LAN box.
Look at the back of your combo box, if it has the LAN socket then use the lan files only.

but it says dont use on a box with serial mine has rs232 does that count as serial

Dont worry about the RS232 serial socker, they both have this. Just make sure your box has the LAN ethernet socket or not.
If you have just purchased this box new, then it will be the LAN model.
Go by the LAN socket m8.

still havin probs m8 fails when i try to update using usb

I have uploaded the firmware which has worked but i cant get the 8989 screen to come up? any suggestions my system info reads

i have tried to reinstall the old f/w but it keeps crashing!

Any suggestions pls your help would be really appreciated

I have the same problem, I fresh Starview HD Combo with LAN port, tried updating with from the advice given in satsmo post here Digital Kaos - Downloads - Feb 09 Latest Starview Combo LAN Firmware

Starview_HD_Combo__0128.uad
GrooveRider_HD_Combo__0212.uad

Still no joy, getting the error message "Update failed. Please check your USB memory" I've tried with a HDD and a USB disk. I've checked that the unit can read files off it firstly I can see the filenames above and secondly I can play divx files directly off both memories.

Any ideas?
