How do enter the secret menu on a pvr box, new to all this but Gr8 site !

hello lads ,its my first time on the site and in need of some help,i have the star view 3,am in the tw area i have tried to get my box going again ,by doing what is posted on the first page(ie 00 01) but am getting no joy can anyone help thanks.

Is there a cable pc card pci interface available for my computer?

Hi, i live in Manchester using the starview box & previouslys i got the same problem as others in this thread:
1. i managed to auto-scan the channels using teeW (but my provider is N*L)
2. Keyed in the 00 & 01 codes for N*L (using menu - 1570 - Nagra)
3. exit (3 times) to the channel & but the channel would always display [info: data is being updated 0 & sometimes until 120%] But nothing shown on the channel & the update kept repeating

I managed to SOLVE this by entering the codes for all three providers (N*L, teeW & ceeW).. and everything is back to normal..
Maybe u guys can do the same & who knows maybe it'll work

bought my starview 4 box on tuesday and now its not working!keep reading all the posts but dont have a clue what everythin means ...ie keys????? can anyone help a useless idiot

All the answers are there and it's in an idiots guide as well.

I mean you only have to be capable of reading English and run a small program that gives you the info to enter on the box, on the box you press a few buttons - and then away you go.

I have had a Starview box for a couple of years but do not know what number it is, probably a 1? Can anyone give me any idea how to get it working again? As I said in my intr new to all this so apologies in advance if I am repeating a question someone else has asked!

we are up and running with keymaster, however the keys are good for a bit, and box go`s down again after a short while so i aquire the new keys from keymaster as generates diferent keys. can anyone say is this normal, do i keep putting the diferents keys in until we get the good ones, would this damage the box at all.
any info much apreciated..

VM are just increasing the number of times they change the keys, hence the need to update them more.

Some boxes currently have a fix to the automatic updating of the keys as VM changed they way they updated them and causing issues for automated updates, hence the need for manual update recently.

You'll have to keep entering the keys until a automated fix for you box is available, no this won't damage the box, just that you are entering them yourself rather than the box automatically rolling.
