New Firmware Starview 3 - 8.04e

Hello ther my friend has a starview 3 (The silver on) she has just recently lost all the movie channels and a few others. Do i need to put new firmware on the box? i have tried reseting to factory default settings and re scanning but still no joy, can anyone help? rumour has it that a lot of SV 3 have gone off recently! cheers Daz

where are you? check what f/ware is on.. menu, system info.. if 8.02 or 8.04 thats the latest and no more available.

as said before factory reset and auto scan from direct feed and enable keycode,
you may now be on nagra3 less and less channels to come as movies are first to go.

can i install firmware from starview4 to starview3 and if so how. i plug in the starview3 to my pc using a rs232 cable but then what? Where is the rs232 port info on the pc and how do i activate the port?
