finally got it working but no sound. Any clues if this is common ?

Didn't think you would manage it DAN. Well done.
First try MUTE button on remote
Next hit RIGHT cursor button (next to OK button)
Then try AUDIO button, check settings.

hi, are there any benefits to this new version of carling 1.03 ive still got 1.01 on my sv7, does this add nefin extra in2 the equation??

no NET APPLICATION!!!

It's annoying when you don't give any details
First power-off router & box, then re-boot router then box.
MENU--UTILITY--SYST. INFO; Check Carling 1.03 is shown, if
not then flash Carling 1.03 STVU 7 firmware to box.
MENU--OPTIONS--NETWORK--IPsetup; make sure set to AUTO.
When in IPsetup are any of the boxes filled in or are they blank
MENU--OPTIONS--NETWORK--NET APPLICATION, select Ustream.
If you are not sorted out post back with details

If you flashed box with Carling 1.03 firmware you should find
net-application when you go into Networks in menu
