starview 7 no connection

I am thinking there has to either be a server or software problem. But as it keeps saying connecting i am guessing server problem.

Hi i am having the excact same problem. I know it cant be my internet problem because my Kryptview a780 which is set up downstairs is using the same internet connection.

I would think it's SV-server issue There's a live match on ESPN
If a lot of SV users are tuned to ESPN that may be the problem
You could reboot rouyer & box. Don't forget to tell people downstairs their channel may go off for a minute

What i meant to add to that last message is that the kryptview downstairs is working fine. All it is using is the same router connection. So i am guessing it is a starview server problem. What do you think?

Good news it is back on.
Although i have noticed when i press info at the bottom where it usually says connected it now says connected: valid to 2011-10-01
Does anyone know if this means that after this date my box wont work?

For some reason my channel 4 is not working it says No Video.

Hi Eamo is it true that a starview 7 box will only last a year? I heard once it connects to the starview servers they give you a years subscription then they stop it. They can do this because it stores your ip address. Any ideas if its true or a load of cobblers?

Reconnect LAN to box

It's true, but if you get channs for 1 year it's not bad value

Its not an issue with your connection, its down to the starview server which is down. Nowadays the channels show as not connected when the server is down.

Thanks Eamo i did the reset and it has come back.
Now just waiting for it to connect to view the other channels.

Well the guy who told me that also said that the Kryptview A780 is full proof and that it will last more then a year as long as new software keeps coming out it should keep running. Is that true? Sorry for all the questions.

There's nothing foolproof, but I would say KV A780 is far better
box, tho it is dearer. The main concern with KV server is where's
finance to come from to pay for server lines if new box sales fall
off after 1 year.
There again none of these boxes may be working in 1 year
