Starview 2 The Box UK Firmware Fix 031208

Just to clarify before I proceed. Can the new loader be used to update any firmware or is it specific to the new fix? In otherwords can I bin all these other loader versions?

IF YOU ARE UPGRADING FROM 4.51 OR EARLIER PLEASE FLASH 4.54 1ST THEN AFTERWARDS FLASH THE LOGO FILE.
IF YOU ALREADY HAVE THE 4.52 ON OR LATER THEN JUST FLASH THE 4.54 STRAIGHT ON WITHOUT THE LOGO FILE.
YOU MUST USE THE NEW LOADER SOFTWARE.

HELP!

Hello fellow Starviewers.

I have a Starview 1 box i think, how can i check what firmware i currently have, i think i have 4.00epi, but not sure, not had my starview working since last week, usually have been able too down load the lastest firmware and flashed my box no probs, but this time cant find the relevant softwear.

Help will be much appreaciated.

on the version 4.03 uploader
what do i put in stb model box?
and 2ndly what file type?

PVR FIX

No it wont work on the PVR and yes you are correct it needs a seperate fix.

is their a fix for the pvr

OK the fix is back up now. Please be aware that this patch will only work on boxes with 4.54 firmware.

I have added all thats required for those on an earlier revision. Please read both the readme and guide contained. Only to be used on genuine boxes.

this is doing my head right in............!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........i have two identical starviewsthat have "The Box" wrote on the front of them...one of them updated and now works perfeclty as per the guides on this thread....The other works up untill the point where i update it from 4.51 to 4.54 and it gets stuck with the blank screen and the"on" display...both worked perfectly on firmware 4.51 untill the latest key change methods........Any one any ideas....Cheers..

Who's bright idea was it to call their cable boxes 'The Box'. Possibly the most generic and open-to-confusion name they ever could have chose haha.
