Ensure you have the Right firmware for your box (make sure its not a clone box)

Use GTrom to update download here YouSendIt - Send large files - transfer delivery - FTP Replacement

• You can leave it on default settings usually, (COM1/115200)
• Click on BIN File and select the new firmware.
• plug your box into the PC using null modem cable
• click on Download.
• Wait till it says completed and your done.

depends which box you have

the only one that can use a usb is the starview super v4 usb

so if you do not say which actual box you have you cannot expect a reasonable answer , sorry

Its a while now since I updated my box so sorry for an ignorant question but do I only need to download version 4.55 to my box 2 and no other files?

yes m8 , just the v4.55 into the sv2 the box , factory reset after ,menu 1570 , set keys default , set emu on , rescan channels

I managed to get my starview 3 box working which was originally a version 8.0 using the gt.rom 8.02 loader but my mate's is a API 6.0e and i've tried 3 times but it's still not working. When i check the system info. on my tv after flashing the box from my pc it still says API 6.0e Version 8.0 (Feb 2008). I've tried scanning, turning EMU on and off and changing the default keys numerous times. I've also reset it back to factory settings and tried to install version 8.02e but to no avail.
ANy ideas please?

try gradual updates through the v6 and then the v7 range until you get to the old v8.00 one , if you manage that you may find it will take the 8.02e image

especially try the 7.09 or 8.00 images

and factory reset at each stage before flashing the next one

hi, got a wee problem.. pretty sure i have a sv2 box... now after downloading diffent firmwares...i get stuck on "downloading.." not sure how long it should take but just seems to get stuck and not move from 0% within 5 mins... i can flash ev boxes no probs...and dbox...just having a prob...with this for a mate.... any ideas...

turn it off , make sure you know which box it is , get the right firmware and start the d/l and quickly switcch it on so the loader catches

starview is sv1
the box is sv2
the box super is sv3
the box super usb is sv4
