    Man guilty of burning poppies

Man guilty of burning poppies at Armistice Day protest
Mohammad Haque (left) and Emdadur Choudhury denied the charges
A Muslim extremist has been found guilty of burning poppies at a protest in west London on Armistice Day.
Emdadur Choudhury, 26, of Spitalfields, east London, was fined ?50 for offences under the Public Order Act.
Choudhury, a member of Muslims Against Crusades (MAC), had denied the charge at Woolwich Crown Court.

Mohammed Haque, 30, of Bethnal Green, was cleared of the charge. Both men had been accused of burning three oversized poppies on 11 November in Kensington.
Rival protests had been taking place at the time near the Royal Albert Hall, the end point of a charity march at which serving members handed over books of condolence ahead of Remembrance Sunday.
District Judge Howard Riddle said: "The two-minute chanting, when others were observing a silence, followed by a burning of the symbol of remembrance was a calculated and deliberate insult to the dead and those who mourn or remember them."
Judge Riddle said the ceasefire at 11am on 11 November 1918 had "huge significance" for Britain and marked the end of a "terrible war".
He added: "Against that background, interrupting the two minutes' silence by chanting 'British soldiers burn in hell', followed by the burning of poppies, is behaviour that is bound to be seen as insulting."
The court was previously told that the grandson of a World War II soldier felt "sick inside" as Muslim extremists burned replica poppies.
Veterans' families felt said they felt physically sick at the act
Tony Kibble said: "Halfway through, I looked up to see what was going on around and I saw a ball of fire fall to the ground. Literally, my stomach turned over.

"I felt sick inside. It is something that means so much to me and to see what I believed to be a wreath of poppies fall to the ground - it is just despicable."
Judge Riddle called Mr Kibble a "mild-mannered" man who had impressed him as a member of the public with "typical feelings" about Remembrance Day.
He said that freedom of expression was not unlimited.
Video footage of the incident was shown to the court.
In it, a member of the MAC could be heard to say, "the two minutes have started" before leading a series of anti-British chants.
About 20 men at the demonstration joined in with shouts of: "Burn, burn, British soldiers, British soldiers, burn in hell."
The crowd continued: "British soldiers - murderers, British soldiers - rapists, British soldiers - terrorists."
Their actions went "far beyond the boundaries of legitimate protest and freedom of expression," prosecutor Simon Ray said.
Choudhury, of Hunton Street, was found guilty under Section 5 of the Public Order Act of burning the poppies in a way that was likely to cause "harassment, harm or distress" to those who witnessed it.
Daniel Breger, defending, said Choudhury was a married man who worked part-time.
He said his wages were ?480 a month, on top of which he receives a monthly ?792 in benefits from the state.
Choudhury must pay a ?15 victim surcharge on top of his fine.

This is my say I do agree that every one should be accountable for the criminal activities such as harassment and distress to any families members hatred to any religion or colour but this is what I am against when it comes to law and order, you could go out there and burn countries flags, you go and out and burn Koran, and they are not accountable, but because they were Muslims they got done burning poppies, so how are they going about saying that the Muslims are not trying to join the multicultural society.

Pretty much shows how spineless these cowards are. They've the balls to burn the poppies but haven't the balls to own up to it. It must hurt them knowing they've got to rely on us Infidels to give them a quality of life they can't get elsewhere. If their god supported them he wouldn't be letting us wipe out the Terrorists they support.

I know they have done wrong it?s the injustices I am talking about, we try to teach our children?s the legal laws but when you hear the govt is not hear to teach you its hear to punish you and why some people do not get done is my question and how they suppose to join the multicultural society when the govt is doing injustices to Muslims, we the British were respected around the world, but when you go abroad now there is no respect because our govt has to put more afford on this issues.

He was fined for offences under the Public Order Act, poppies or not. I seem to recall that someone was fined not so long ago for urinating on a memorial, I don't recall any outcry about injustices by the government against the English for that.

The dead men these poppies represent must be turning in their graves at what has become of this country they gave their lives for. To the scum that burned the poppies we should treat you as hitler would have- STRING YOU UP WITH PIANO WIRE.

Poppies signify a mark of respect and I think they got off lightly, the pastor in America didnt burn the Koran but was still refused entry into Britain, thats an injustice.

What the hell has Gutmo or Japanese POW camps got to do with burning a Quran in Terran? or even Ops?
Because someone's in the Army they therefore automatically condone and support torture and detention camps?

I can safely assure you that if I sat on the temple mound and set fire to what amounts to nothing more than a work of fiction I wouldn't receive anything near as humane as a trial or a stint in Guantanamo.
I don't see the same result if i was to sit atop the mound burning poppies though, theres your injustice.

Back here if I was to burn either a Quran or a handful of Poppies id wind up in court for inciting racial hatred, where's the injustice there? Seems perfectly indiscriminate and fair to me.
The only downside I can see is that id just get hit with some twiddly fine instead of real justice being sought, where's the justice in my taxes paying for someone else's fine? cause that's what's essentially happened in this case.
I've paid taxes to allow him his day in court and I'm paying taxes to keep him in the lifestyle he's become accustomed to and he'll pay his fine from the benefits paid for by my taxes.
In essence the British people as a whole are being punished for some idiotic hate-monger.

Frankly there's not enough Gutmos, I say we reinstate something on par with the Warsaw Ghetto and instead of Jews toss the all these hateful sons of bitches in there instead, a nice criminal colony left to starve! Maybe then people will actualy see real justice and begin to think twice before pulling stupid headline grabbing shit.

They've already got places where they're left to starve unless they play ball. It's called their homeland and that's why the sponging useless fnuckers are over here. If it was as shi@ here as it is back in their own Country they wouldn't be here. It's the 21st Century and about time we treated Religion for what it is, a load of propaganda to keep the masses in check and to allow the select few to rule over others and indulge in their perversions. What's wrong with just treating everyone with respect and keep Religion behind closed doors.
