i think its very unlikely you will get a 1k fine and criminal record for not filling it out,i certainly will not be filling mine out,if youre that worried about the consequences,just write complete shite and send it back,job done

About 20 years ago I was basically working for my dole on a scheme to reduce unemployment figures and the census arrived.
I didn't consider this scheme to be work in the same way as I would do with a proper job so I marked the census as being unemployed. A few weeks later the person who delivered and collected the forms was back at the door-supposedly a random call- to ask a few more questions. I suspected it was in relation to the above and gave her a note page full of lies to add to the above and never saw her since. Big brother must have been angry.

i thought i wouldnt have to fill it out(living on a building site, mrs at usual residence) got busted a few days ago, census taker arrived asking about house cause it had been removed from census years ago and had seen my van there a lot. told her i only stayed occasionally cause of breakins. she came back today with a ~~~~in form...

Well I've just completed my Census and having read previous posts I was expecting the Spanish Inquisition. I'm sure some Top Secret Government bodies are going to be after me now that they now my age, marital status, whether I have central heating, religion and that I live in a house.

They will do what it says on the tin, you could face prosecution, up to ?1000 fine and a criminal record or you may end up in prison if you do not pay the fine, the finale decision will be on the hands of the Judge, please take your solicitors advice.
