Alleged aftermath of a 90MPH impact...

Stumbled across this on another forum.

The OP claims he was doing 10mph and was hit at 90mph by a drunk driver.

    I make that a closing impact of 100mph, yes/no?

Does this look like the damage of a 100mph impact?

    The driver has no injuries.

doesnt look like 100mph to me unless the back of the renault is made of 1" plate, or the drunk driver was on a bicycle.
if they were both going same direction and drunk hit from behind it makes it an 80 mph, still looks like light damage for that. maybe renault guy was going faster than he thought

doesn't look much worse than the damage that was done to my car a few years back when i was stopped at traffic lights and someone drove into the back of my car. i'd guess they were doing 40 tops.

and as for the damage to the front, the bumper clips are designed to give way, doesn't take much of a tip to anything to do that.

          1) WHAT THE HECK WERE YOU DOING ON ANOTHER FORUM OTHER THAN DK?
          EXPLAIN YOURSELF PAL??

2)can't explain front bumber, unless the shock of impact made him drive into some thing at the front.

          3) So if he was going 10 MPH and the guy was doing 90 mph - surly that's 90 - 10 = 80

          4) Bloke was drunk, how does he know it was 90 and not 19 mph?

          5) speedos often read out, own car reads 70 mph when 3 gps devices say 62

You should try putting the standard wheels back on Meathead.

I've just sussed out the source of those pics, and understand why the word "alleged" was used.

I think the person who "alleged" the other driver was travelling at 90mph must be confused. That looks as if it was a nasty shunt, but nothing like the carnage that a 80mph closing speed impact would have caused.

                    nara i have to disagree.

the op used the word " alleged" as he doesn't believe the source poster.

my personal view is that it was a nasty crash where the the drunk driver was proberly going slower than the original poster thinks, and maybe the original poster was travelling a little faster than he thought......

you have to remember the drunk driver would have made an attempt to stop and modern cars do stop alot more quickly these days.

the op also used the term " stumbled across",

                    question:
how the hell did he stumble across on a thread on a site that we both know he is banned from?

why on earth would someone question a thread, posted on a forum that he is banned from?
and start a thread on a rival (not sure thats the best word, but you get what i mean) forum?

i would like to know how he manged to "stumble across" it.

                    i question his motives....

                          I agree completely.

                          What are we disagreeing about?
