    Help find me a toy...

I'm looking to fulfill my summer toy needs. This year I'm looking for an adult version of one of these...

Just to be fussy, I don't want one that's got the cord attached. If you remember the versions that had a plastic toothed strip, that's what I'm after.

The more dangerous the better. Ebay & google searches have so far drawn a blank...

    HELP!

Sorry Jok, not manly enough. That would break within 2 minutes.

Let me paint you a picture... I'm not a small lad & my 19st frame has some power in it. I'm looking for something I can really get in to without worrying about breaking it.
If it has the potential to decapitate teenagers and health & safety morons I want it.

If I could find a way to customise circular saw blades to fly the same way, I'd do it. Summer isn't the same without risking injury while playing

        Funny ~~~~a' ain't ya satsmo

Already got a couple of RC heli's.

I did find one that was more like a ducted fan (blades were about 2" high) it also came with a plane that the flying disk section connected to. Can't find the bugger now, typical.

could be modified quite nicely to decapitate numerous people, all via your phone. Remote decapitation, can't beat it.

My toys have to be dangerous & relatively cheap.

                Found this...

Ok, it doesn't fly, but I had something similar as a kid. The dam thing was lethal. So if it's possible to find a bigger version of this it will be a good substitute.

If price is a factor build one, looks like a relatively simple design. Aluminium would make an effective, similarly dangerous flying wheel, wooden handle, steel runner. Cost about ?20 all in + labour. Follow the design/angles of the plastic one.

SDP/SI is the leader in the design and manunfacture of precision mechanical components, such as precision gears, gear assemblies, timing belts, timing belt pulleys, and couplings.

                    (gear + rack)

                    (Aluminium Sheet)

Wood, studs etc could all be found in B&Q.

Any chance you could draw a quick schematic of the internal mechanism? The second one looks like a single gear but not sure.

When I get done for creating WMD I'll point them in your direction SC.

Been giving it some thought... Why bother with boring rip cord or pull mechanics.

I'm off to consider the use of an electric motor to power the wind up. Should be able to reach impressive launch speeds with ring toothed projectiles.....

Simple, power. The amount of inertia your arm will generate will be hard to replicate with a suitable motor. Speed on the other hand........

Just need to work out the release mechanism

Not even sure if a release mechanism is required, wouldn't want it flying back at me though.

You can mod these things to launch from an old laptop hard drive, cut a hole in the top of the disk and fit the bit that goes in the rotor on the centre of the platter and they really go
