What you paying for Gas and Leccy ??

The price of gas and electricity is doing my head , i'm paying ?49 a month for Gas and ?43 for electric, thats via direct debit (the cheapest way) and with british gas on thier cheapest tarriff websaver 11 which you need to sign up online for.

BUT, I had a look at my bill tonight and i'm ~~~~in ?60 in debt for the gas and ?12 in debt for the electricity, this is a ~~~~in joke man, I am gutted and sick of all this shit man !!! Robbing Bast*rds !!!

I live with the wife in a brand new two bedroom end terrace house, gas cooker, gas central heating, electric shower, washing machine, dishwasher, HD 50" plasma tv, and high end pc with 42" HD LED Screen, upright fridge/freezer and basically thats about it, we dont use the heating that much, washing machine only gets used every couple or few days and dishwasher is like once a day, but these appliances are new good ones and supposed to use less electric than the old models, plus mostly all lightbulds are energy saving ones.

Can i have some replies from people who are also feeling the pinch and any suggestions about cheaper companies and how much people are paying etc would be excellent, Maybe I am paying less than average, i dont know, thats why I ask for peoples opinions in here.

    Thanks and much appreciated.

two things to note. check how much you are paying per kwh (also called unit). Second have a look at how many units you are using. Personally I am paying around slightly higher price for first xx units then 12p per unit there after. Some contracts like economy 7 can have a higher standing charge but offer lower tariff in the evening.

Also make sure you send in meter readings, their estimates always tend to be high then actual usage.

I stay in a new build 5 apt and I pay ?21 a month for Gas and ?19 for electric with Scottish gas on direct debit. My bird stays in a similar new build 3 apt and they wanted over ?60 a month for electric and ?40 for gas. She just pays the bills as they come in and it works out just a bit dearer than what I'm paying.
I havent needed the heating on since February as the insulation makes the house very warm so I think I will run up a big credit during the summer that should take care of next winter. I'm not sure though as I have only been on this for 8 months,

        3 Bedroom house.

        Gas central heating.
        Gas cooker.
        Everything else is electric.

        ?46/month electricity.
        ?40/month gas.

Both services from Scottish Gas, so that's me getting a discount.

Summer bills are usually a few quid cheaper.

dont have a standing charge mate and the price of the energy with this company doesnt get cheaper at night, but i know what ya mean.

I put all my details again into moneysupermarket.com to see if i could save anything and it actually says i am on the cheapest tarriff (websaver 11) and with the cheapest company just now (british gas/scottish gas, same company).

Strange thing is though, moneysupermarket says that i should be saving ?139 per year, so i need to get onto the coonts and see whats deal man, ~~~~in Robbers !

I pay ?73 pm for both.. dont know how it works out individually. Scottish Power.

House just been refurbished, Full rewire, New heating.. Rads changed. Electric cooker, gas hob..

All lights are energy saving apart from the florescent in the garage.

I turned boiler off when the meter was last read as it wasn't needed. This should give me an idea on what the boiler is doing cost wise.

I'm still contemplating on building a wind turbine, even if it gives me a few 100 kw a year its a saving

I pay ?95 a month for dual gas/elec with npower, and thats with ?100 discount on the online 17 deal. Cheeky ~~~~ers tried to reduce my bill to ?62 a month, but then said my estimated usage would be at least ?78 a month.
Got to watch these lot as they will keep you in debt to keep your custom.

I was ?400 in debt 18 months ago, reason... I wasnt on one of their "cheap" tarriffs. Its worthwhile riging them up and making sure you are on their best deal. Soon as I swapped, it took 18 months to clear the bill and now they owe me money.

4 bed semi, 2 adults + 2 kids. British gas standard tariff with price protect back from 2009 to 2012. Just looked it up, gas is 65 month not horrendes. But electricity is ?97 a month !! I do have 3 servers on all the time, will need to look at reducing that to one.

Will need to look into other options at this rate.
