BSB invested a shit load of money on the best available technology at the time which was DMAC, it was superior in many ways to plain old analogue that Sky chose, but Sky got in there first and the rest is history.

The squarials far outlived their lifespan buy being very efficient D2MAC antennas.

Anyone familiar with DMAC and D2MAC will laugh at Sky's analogue system of the time.

I should at that not all D2MAC decoders were equal. I had a few shit ones before I bought a Pace D150 which I paired with a Pace MSS500.

This thread brings back some great memories! I've got a few Game and Watches and an Astro Wars, plus a few other bits and bobs. What I've always wanted though was a Tamiya RC car, well not a car but a bright orange van, can't remember the bleeding name for it though!

i remember having a baird colour tv with a remote control- it made a clicking noise which changed the channels or you could just clap your hands.

remembered a little device this morning; it was from sky analgue days and THINK it had something to do with receiving sky 2. it was a little black box as i recollect, dish coax went in one end, receiver coax went in other end, creating a bridge. it had a little switch on it too... anybody remember it?

I remember it, it was because the first sky receivers were incapable of using dual band LNB's, the extra device allowed use of the higher band and was in effect a switch, or something similar.
