Got to agree, some of the comments on this thread are amazing! I ask ya.. Did she every kill anyone (other than herself), did she physically harm anyone (other than herself)? We all have choices to make and maybe she made some bad ones, but no one knows where she was at mentally - and has been at mentally for several years. If you ask me she anit the 'gulity' one here. The ex who introduced her to drugs, who seemed to screw her up mentally and the proper 'low life' dealers. They are the scum bags.

A great talent and a shame we didn't get to hear another 20 years or so of her music. Hope she's in a better place now.

She may not have physically killed someone but she used drugs, her money as well as other addicts fuel the drug trade a trade which many people are murdered in also where is herion made? So ok she never phsically harmed anyone but what about the emotional harm she has caused her family?

So to make out as if her actions only effected her is a load of crap, her drug use does cause deaths, it funds terrorist groups, it has caused a lot of pain to her family and she is to blame. I dont say ooh good ridanace and i do think its a waste of her life but she decided to take that path.

As for someone saying she didnt want to take drugs at some point she must have and she made that choice she could have went both ways she could have said no and lived a succesful life or said yes and end up with this outcome.

It seems there are some perfect individuals on DK who have never made mistakes in life, a big Whoop de ~~~lin Whoo to you, me I'm not perfect, I've made many mistakes, but then I'm human just like this young girl was. Wise up and grow up, because your sitting in a wee room hiding behind a keyboard doesn't mean your comments are less insulting. I wonder did the soldier/Soldiers killed in Afghan/Iraq wars (who some seem to be using as cover for their insulting comments) I wonder did they make mistakes in life? This is a tragedy for this young girl and her family, if you've nothing sensible to say it would make more sense to say nothing. Unbelievable!

I have made mistakes but come on to **** mistakes have outcomes. What are we to believe that its a terrible thing that happened... Guess what abusing the drugs she did is well known that they can lead to that outcome. Yes it is a terrible thing but she knew they could kill her and she continued to abuse and take them in the first place. As i said ny sympaphy is with her family, it must be a very hard time for thm. She should have been responsible enough not to put her family in this situation.

I'd also like to point out that the UK's first heroin addicts were in fact ex military from ww2.

Yes as they were given it as pain relief after surgery and so on its hardly the same thing!

But they were heroin addicts , they bought heroin on the black market so at the end of the day its the same thing. Most heroin addicts use heroin for pain relief of some sort be it physical, mental or emmotional pain.
You cant say its ok for one type of person to be addicted to heroin and not for others.

Yes he knew the risk but so did amy.. she went to rehab and im pretty sure she was informed of the risks but also knew the risks the first time she injected herself or sniffed a line..

I never posted in this thread to cause tension nor disrespect her, im just discusted that the press in the UK puts celebs before soilders who die for THE country.

Of course you can! A patient who became addicted to heroin because of the ignorance (as it was then) of the prescriber is totally different from a modern day druggie.
