I'm from Arklow, known locally and made famous by Dustin the Turkey as Arkla. Five minutes walk to two beaches , North and South split by a river and five minutes walk to the forestry park. Best of both worlds.
A lot of main shopping street now has empty shops since the arrival of the new shopping center with its 9 screen cinema and top name shops.
I have lived elsewhere due to work arrangements but nowhere compares to Arklow.
Birth place of Ronnie Delaney the Olympic medal winner.
A once thriving tourist destination with a great sea fishing tradition and the place where Gypsy Moth 11 was built along with Asgard sail training vessel which recently visited Davy Jones' locker.
