Stockton-on-Tees, birth place of the railways & we gave you the friction match.

The area is a bit of a nightmare. You have some really nice safe areas, but there are also places you just don't want to go near....with next to no warning that you're heading for that 'no go' scum hole.

The town has seen a decline in recent times. Even McDonalds closed!! But it's still functioning & has a few good pubs.... & some real shitty dives. Not much in the way of night clubs, it's better in Middlesbrough.

But we do have a really good road system compared to other towns/cities... even if they still need repairing from the last two winters.

20 minutes in any direction will put you in lovely countryside or drowning in the north sea.

@True Grit, I dare you to walk down Church Street on a saturday night without a weapon.

I stayed there for 2 weeks.. i thought the ASDA was amazing .. it has escalators.. ive never seen that before ...

its awful. the council has spent millions doing it up, but you can't polish a turd.

famous for the chartist movement and the glc.

Well as we are stating shops etc etc.

Basically as a rule there is at LEAST two of everything - except MacD and Tesco.com there is approx 56.000 of each.

Hair cutt - One street had 6 in at one time - Polish shops, butchers, bakers, candlestick makers - the lot.

MILLIONS of tattoo shops, drum shops, you name it there is two.

EXCEPT:-

There is only ONE Meat-Head-Motors.
