I think they should defo be funding it themselves ...there getting there money as it is by doing nothing but rip us off with having no choice but pay and they can raise it at any time ...while paying themselves big fatcat wages and paying the likes of johnathan ross a fortune of our money without us having a say it SUCKS big time ...Comment

Should be funding themselves.it's a rip off and outdated idea. I can't think of one good thing in it's favour.
THE TRUTH
The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12
Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.Comment

I've been dodging it for over 20 years now and have no intention of ever paying that fee.
Why should I be forced to subsidise other peoples viewing of east enders or the other crap the bbc shows - I don't want the bbc and am certainly not going to be forced to pay twice for watching sky 1 for example.
Scrap it - it's old, outdated, the programs are crap, and there is pleanty other choices out there. I think you should only have to pay for the things you watch and that's it.Suck my plumsComment

when we were kids playing out, if we saw a licence van, we would run home and tell the old man. he would then tune out bbc 1 and 2.
but now, if you say "i dont watch bbc channels", they say "yeah, but you have the ability to"
WTF! I have the abilty to go out and mug somebody! wanna come and arrest me for that?
Its an unfair tax. tvs are a vital part of society for information purposes
maybe they should licence the bbc output to sky/virgin as a paid for channel.
that way, no licence fee, you only get it if you want it.
(and we dodgy box owners could get it for free still.

THIS IS TAKEN FROM THE TV LICENSING SITE
Do I need a TV Licence?
You must be covered by a valid TV Licence if you watch or record television programmes as they're being shown on TV. It makes no difference what equipment you use - whether it?s a laptop, PC, mobile phone, digital box, DVD recorder or a TV set - you still need a licence.
You do not need a TV Licence to view video clips on the internet, as long as what you are viewing is not being shown on TV at the same time as you are viewing it.
If you use a digital box with a hi-fi system, or another device that can only be used to produce sounds and can't display TV programmes, and you don't install or use any other TV receiving equipment, you don't need a TV Licence.

they say that you must pay for these channels but yet they provide them for free. i do not agree with paying for a service which i did not ask for.
if i were sat on a bus and 2 old ladies were sat in front of me, nattering away. i could either listen to their conversation or not. they do not have the right to turn to me and ask for a fee for my ability to listen to their repetetive nonsense.
maybe the bbc, if they do not want to go down the advertisements route, should make their channels a premium service and charge for peoples ability to watch that way.
i reiterate that i will not pay for something for which i did not ask.
if a window cleaner doing his rounds took it upon himself to wash my windows and then knocked my door asking for a fee and even threatened legal action if i did not pay then i'd tell him exactly the same thing as i'ld tell the tv license man if he were ever to come knocking.
fck fck fckity fck fck off.Comment
