Daithi, i have a mastercard debit card with my EBS account. It can be used exactly like a credit card, but the money comes straight out of your account. It's accepted by paypal, amazon and anywhere i've tried to use it, whereas my laser card isnt accepted by a lot of sites.

      EBS Debit Card

Why on earth would anyone want one of these. Firstly if a card has a positive balance then surely it has no credit therefore is NOT a credit card. Why give money to a company to hold onto before you spend it. From what I read they charge you for doing so, then invest your hard earned money, make a profit, keep your money and some have the cheek too charge you again to use it.

These are another way of extracting money from those who can ill afford to pay it. If you have a good credit rating just get a proper one and pay the balance in full every month.

i have one because it means i can buy things online but i can't spend money i don't have, so i can't get myself into debt with it.

it's cheaper than a credit card because i don't have to pay the same fees and taxes as i would if i had a credit card, and also there's no interest payable as i'm using my own money.

            EH???

Have you actually took time to read the charges.

For one its safe to use these rather than your own card, should you loose them or they get stolen.

I have my spending money for Florida in a $ card. Now I just add to it as i go and it doubles as a cost free saving.

Now the card cost me ?0 to get and only ?5 for another card.

I dont get charged to use it in the Country I want, IE the US.

So over all its cost me ?5

            Bargain if you ask me.
