it's breakfast ... lunch ... dinner ... and supper ..... tea is something you drink if you don't like coffee

PS ... Eva .... it's the same every day of the week ..... where you are at the time doesn't change it's name ...

breakfast, lunch, dinner and supper if dinner is earlier than usual.

i sometimes say tea but that's very rare.

I thought tea was just another word for dinner or a cup of tea

Tea time is a North thing for sure, loads of my customers say

"if you can call in at tea time" so I always have to say what ~~~~ing time is tea time ?

                        One said the other day

"I wont be back while tea time"

Sorry that makes no sense to me at all

I wont be back WHILE tea time, WHILE ??

Ive asked since, why dont you just say

                        "i'll be back about half 5 - 6"

                        that makes sense

I wont be back WHILE tea time.............doesn't

Breakfast time = 6am to 9 am.. not after, then we're getting into 'elevenses' or ''brunch'' times

Dinner = 12pm -1pm. no dinner may be eaten after or before these times

Tea = 4pm-7pm preferrably finished by at LATEST 1/2 7..
These are the times given by the British Meal Council, which is real and i havent just made them up

Right this thread is confusing me now

6am 9am - breakfast, would say that breakfast would be up until 10am though

                              12pm - 1pm - this is lunch not dinner dinner is your 4pm - 7pm

4pm - 7pm - this is dinner sometimes referred to as tea although never by me tea, tea is something drank out of a cup.

I thought it was the same all over the UK so my world has been shattered to realise that lunch elsewere is dinner to me dinner sounds to late to be lunch.
