Here's a question for you - how does a painkiller know you've got a headache when it's in your stomache??????

Easy. The feeling or sensation of pain is local to the brain, although the sensation of pain may be felt in the stomach or head. Therefore the painkillers dampen the pain receptors in the brain.

I thought the brain did not have pain receptors. Any pain felt in the head is felt in all the nerve receptors surrounding the brain. O.K. its a bit pedantic but someone in here might be sitting their exams for brain surgery or something similar.
