          Hi frogger just read your post re ulcers,I used to suffer from the same,I used to spend a fortune on maalox.you should go to your doctor and see about having a test for heliobacter(I think that's the name) virus.I got this test which was simply blowing into a bottle,I got antibiotics and a month later I was cured.never any trouble with it since and that's 15 years ago.best of luck.

              I didnt say it was LOGICAL; if the government responded logically, liquids would not be banned on flights lasting less than 2 hours. - This being the minimum time required to mix a liquid explosive - assuming you had unlimited access to the on-board bathroom and 20 gallons of water for cooling purposes.

                In-between your prescribed meds use Andrews liver salts ...

                Your ulcer is a side effect of over production of stomach acid, Andrews is very effective at helping keep it under control also put a hot water bottle over the area where the pain is as this helps as well.

                Has your Dr tested you for the Helicobacter pylori infection which is a cause of peptic ulcers. The normal cure for this is using lansoprazole / omeprazole / pantoprazole ect along with 2 antibiotics over a 14 day period to cure the infection.

                I suffered from the age of 16 until i was given the treatment at age 32 ... only had 1 relapse in the last 12yrs and a course of lansoprazole sorted that out. i also found that taking the lansoprazole twice a day instead of the once prescribed worked better and faster.

                lansoprazole can be bought over the counter in weaker doses in the form of zantac and losec.

                In my experience the Andrews worked better than MoM.

                  Thats exactly what I was diagnosed with over 2 years ago or so.

                  Helicobacteriosis or something and I was prescribed some weird anti biotics and other virus stuff. EDIT these are them Metronidazole 400mg 6 per day

                  It cleared up a good bit, and then it came back after 3-4 months. I got an endoscopy for biopsy there in Jan I think, but no reply from hospital or GP as of yet. I hate to bother them.

                  I think I got it due to taking too much ibuprofen or something. But anything I ate was "boiling" or so it felt in my stomach and coming back up.

                  I couldnt eat and lost weight rapidly. I was confined to lying still for 2-3weeks at a time ffs. If I moved my stomach acid moved with me and it was pain-full.

                  Even cold freezing water would be rejected by stomach, but only after a while upon which it had heated it up. Thats how it felt.

                  Worst sort of physical pain ive ever had and I have sciatica.

                  But the stomach pain is coming back with a vengeance and the sickening bile feeling which is more painfull when I am hungry.
                  .

                  @manxspud

                  Thanks for your post. I will be looking into that.

                  I will be at my GPs on Mon morning (open surgery)
