Loved it when i was younger , slept under canvas from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands , but my missus and me are in our 50's now so cheat a bit , we've got a tin tent ( caravan ).
It's a bit more forgiving , after a 10 mile wet walk in the Lake District , to sit on a sofa , put the fire on , and read the paper , while our 2 dogs and our walking clothes dry out in the awning , next to a little heater of course ! , we've become pussycats !

tents are a no go for myself, prefer to find the nearest hotel. Tents are to wet, windy, and uncofmtable.
Caraans are all good if they are the nice big movable home types, but nothing beats a nice hotel double bed when away

North Berwick is nice and the tantallon castle is one of my favourite castles.

Yes I've done my fair share of camping. I enjoy it but I've not been camping for a couple of years now due to there being no on-suite in my tent .

We might head up to loch Fyne this year if the weather is nice and take the tent. It's one of my favourite places in Scotland.

Campings ok when your a kid, its all an adventure. But for me yer need a bit of comfort and that means not sleepin on a blow up bed.
Although if Barbera Windsor was there doing some chest flings I might change me mind.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

i just pack a bag and go bothying or find some howf/cave to spend the night in, cuts down on the weight of hiking in a tent for extended trips.

i do have a crux xr2 thats never let me down and a couple of bivvy bags for when the weathers warmer. these are usualy only used if its only a few hours walk in from the vehicles though or if im out with a few people rather than on my lonesome with the dog.

i dont ever go to camping sites though, never saw the point of camping as a holiday, id rather be out walking as far away from civilization as i can.

Ah! The good old days when you had to immerse your tent in Linseed oil to make it 'Waterproof'. After that all you could hear was 'Don't touch the side of the tent'. If you touched the side of the tent when it was raining the water started to drip in.
