Everyones body has it's own sleep pattern so it's just a case of experimenting to see what works. I regularly hit the gym or go for a run after 8pm. Get home about 9:30pm, cook my tea, have a coffee, do some paper work then hit the scratcher between 11pm and 12pm yet have a great sleep. Everything the so called experts say you shouldn't do.

I think the biggest thing stopping people sleeping is their mind concentrating on getting to sleep which just gets them wound up.

Been a while since I logged in with enough time to do some reading. Should of got to this quicker.

I had a problem sleeping a while ago. I love zopiclone, doc won't give me any now.

What I did was stick some ambient music on low, merlins magic & whale sounds worked well. But then I found the best way to bore myself to sleep.

Very simple. Just think about what you would do if you won the lottery. Only in fine detail. So if you'd commission a house to be built...what would the layout be like, how big would each room be, what lighting systems would you use & why, windows, locks, eco-friendly ideas, driveway, car port or garage?......

Plan it in detail. But do it every night. Within a week you'll be nodding off before you even pick the colour of the curtains.

I suffered with proper Insomnia for years untill I changed my diet, Only drink water or semi skimmed milk or fresh lemon juice orange not carton stuff, eat lots of veg and fish, take a walk or bike ride everynight at about 8pm, masterbate or sleep with the wife everynight about 10.30pm, then read a book or watch a movie drama or documentry no action or exciting stuff, Or listen to music like Hanz Zimmer he does great soundtracks like the gladiator movie and the new superman etc.

Take 2 anti-histamines everynight with a vitimin B12 tablet it makes you drowsy, and the B12 is good for your brain thoughts etc

It sounds like a chore but try this for one week and you will start sleeping like a log then you start missing the tablets and relize your still sleeping skip the odd walk at 8pm and your still sleeping, then in place of the walks everynight nip to the swimming baths and do a few laps a few times a week.

Over a few month your sleep routine will be normal, but you must keep up the diet, its all the crap in micro meals and processed foods tea and coffee that messes with your stress levels.

Also dont think you have to sleep 10 hours a night, people are different, I tend to sleep around 12pm and get up at 6.30 or 7.00 and that is fine some people need more sleep then others.

To help with the sleeping with your wife everynight or knocking one out etc take a zinc tablet one a day about 40mg them keep your sperm count out up and make you produce faster.

Sorry folks just noticed this has posts, for some reason when i subscribe to threads its not notifying me :/

Still no further forward during the day im busy and making sure i keep myself busy not drinking tea or coffee basically all i drink is water. Been going large walks with the dog and exercising but when night comes my mind goes in to overdrive just constantly thinking things and by the time it reaches early hours i probably then end up overthinking trying to sleep. Also joining the gym soon so hopefully that will improve the situation.

Some really good tips on this thread and be working my way through them.... although pee in my bath think that will have to be a last resort

Sleep is basically routine a good routine will have good sleeps

I have gotten in to bad ones eating and staying up late its hard to get back and if your mind aint tired it wont switch off

Force yourself into gettting up earlier say 6am
get plenty of fresh air walks ect
                    dont have afternoon naps
stay away from food and caffeine after say 6pm

after a bit your body clock will change you will get tired from getting up early and sleep on a night. Routine is key

A nice warm cup of green tea is actually quite relaxing, and the minerals it has might relax you and allow you to fall asleep more naturally than some other solutions... After ****ing, of course.
