    christmas dinner

well we thought of going out for xmas dinner this year as its getting a bit too much for my mum and im absolutely hopeless. she practically has a nervous breakdown doing sunday dinner once a fortnight so christ knows what this xmas would be like. my sister is good though but my god the dishes - i think they use every single bloody one for their annual wash however its my job and i got to do them.

we just thought it would be nice to go out for a change. my mum has never had a chinese or indian meal in her life and she never will so its gotta be somewhere nice.

for mothers day etc we go to a wee place called the river inn in crosslee near houston renfrewshire.

River Inn - High quality, family friendly restaurant in Renfrewshire, Scotland.

so i booked a table for 6 yesterday when i was there for the cavery. i didnt even think to ask the price - i presumed about ?50 each. when i got home i thought id better check and see the menu etc and the price is ?70 each. when i phoned my mum to tell her she said "its ok id rather have the nervous breakdown than pay ?70 each!!

do you think ?70 is a bit steep??

Thats what xmas dinners are all about, stress, the dishes, arguments, crappy paper hats, soggy sprouts. Its all character building.

Anyhoo's, I think thats a bargain, ?70 for 6 people, well worth it.
I refuse to answer that question on the grounds that I do not know the answer.

Why not give the cooking a go yourself??? I know you say you are absolutely hopeless but you've got 6 months to practice!!!,

Start off at an easy pace.. roasties, veg etc until you gain confidence

Think of it as a bit of a challenge, You never know.. you might surprise yourself!!

I'll undercut Aftermath and do it for half the price, and i'll bring me own paper hats.
