A number of years ago I spoke with these people National Debtline – Free, Confidential Debt Advice – Call 0808 808 4000

I ignored the cab as i thought they were too much of a 'jack of all trades, master of none' outfit.. I know they are there to help but I wanted the dedicated help from somebody who knew what they were really talking about and had the balls to fight my corner for me... They were a great help and I got some tossers off my back who were illegally harrassing me over an old debt... I am not saying that the cab advise is crap, its just a case of getting a second opinion and if necessary a third... You have nothing to loose and you are not stepping on anybodies toes, you are looking after number one... you try all you can and go down fighting or bend over and take one.. Council Tax is one of the debts where they will come after you and as you know some even get bird for it.. but the other debts you speak of, if they are unsecured its time to reassess them and send them packing, don't take my word for it though as I am not qualified in this, I just had a rough patch a number of years back..
