I am not objecting to the use of CCTV, just to the results, as released by the Police themselves.(Less than 1 crime solved to 1000 cameras)
If you go out and rob people, steal and commit other crimes, then you should be arrested, prosecuted and convicted.
If you are a person who constantly commits crimes, then yes, you should be tagged and kept under control, BUT this should NOT apply to innocent persons who have not committed any crimes. You are innocent until proven guilty and NOT the otherway around!
There are, how may people in the UK, say 50/60 million. How the hell are they going to tag every single person?
You will have to tag every man, woman and child. As i am sure you have seen that kids as young a 10 are up to no good!
Who will monitor all these people? They cant even monitor the CCTV cameras that are in place. There are about 4.2 million CCTV cameras in the UK, about 1 camera for every 14 people.
(bbc data)
Who and where will they keep the data for 50/60 million people, day in day out? If you have a tag embedded in your body, then they will be able to monitor your every movement forever, even when you are having sex with your partner
What happend if your DNA and personal data is lost and or stolen, as already happened with other governmant projects?
Even the most secure government establishments have been hacked into! If this happens, then you will be useless to stop it as your every single detail will have been stolen. If your fingerprint data is stolen for example, how will you then change your fingerprint?
The government already monitors your mobile phones, credit cards, internet activity and so on and we already have ID cards, photo driving licence, passport, bank cards, work ID cards and so on.
What happens if you are at the wrong place at the wrong time?
(I can give you a good example of this, if you want)
In my opinion, this is what will happen, if your DNA and all your personal information is taken and you are tagged, there will be no Police Officers walking around, but sitting behind a desk, looking at 15/20 CCTV screens, watching to see if they can spot a crime being comitted. If you are in the wrong place at the wrong time, then someone looking at you movements will put
2 & 2 together and come up with 9 and you will be arrested.
BTW, my house was robbed back in 1999 and two of my cars have been stolen.(I own a taxi office) Thats why I now have 4 CCTV camers around my house, which are monitored and recorded. According to the Police the robber(s) were wearing gloves and covered there footware.
If you are a criminal, you will always find a way to do your dirty deeds.
Even with that, I still dont agree with ID cards and DNA data!
