THE TRUTH
The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12
Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.Comment

Just a copy and paste here... but one idea....
Ah ha! I had this a few years ago in a little apartment I lived in. I complained to my landlord of a raunchy odor, and he just laughed. I even made him come over a few times to smell it. He told me to call him when I smelled the smell, and he would come to take a whiff. It was months before he finally did indeed smell the smell I had been speaking of. Still at this point, we didn't know what it was. One day a few weeks later, it was really strong, and I followed it to the bathroom. Upon walking in, the tiles on the floor were dreadfully warm, as if there was a heater beneath my floor. I heard a weird sound just like you said, like a car putting or a gurgling sound. I immediately called the landlord again, and told him about it. He came out right away, and tore the tile off and called his son to come over with a shovel. It took them two days to dig through the ground, and found that the old water pipes beneath were leaking! The pipes were waaay old, and had burst. The smell was the water rotting with the ground and ground yuck of some variety. It took months to fix. A crew had to come out and rip up the old piping and replace it. It was awful, I had wooden boards for a floor, and was scared to death of critters coming up from under the house. But I was glad when it was fixed. They said the whole structure could have been ruined if I hadn't been as persistent as I was to make the landlord smell the smell and take care of the situation. I would get a plumber out there right away, and check your floorboards for warm areas. Good luck, if you don't own the place, get renters insurance. It could take months to fix, and water could get in your house and ruin some of your personal belongings.

A lot of other ideas point to the heating system... what type do you have?Comment

Check any plants you have. Compost might be a bit old. Check kitchen sink drains. Would not do any harm to put a few soda crystals down them. You say the smell gets stronger at times. It could be a patch of dampness made worse when your central heating comes on.
I had a problem with my bath. It was leaking and the water was dripping through the top off the door below. We kept changing the sealant round the bath in every recommended way. Plumbers who looked at it could not find the problem. Eventually the water broke through the paint on the door. Over the length of time it had rotted the door frame. I eventually found the problem. When somebody was having a shower the bath was lowering ever so slightly and making the outlet plug loose and water was escaping on to the floor.
What I am trying to say is that sometimes we look in all the wrong places for the problem. Best of luck.I can't wake up Grumpy now in case I am accused of DwarfismComment
