Sounds like a dead mouse, either that or your missus is disgusted by the state of your underpants and stuffs them under the floorboards instead of washing them.
It could be a blocked sewer pipe. Lift your manhole cover (if you have one) and ask a neighbour higher up the chain of houses to flush their toilet with some toilet paper. Sit and wait for the water to come splashing down the sewer pipe, if it doesn't come quickly or not at all your problem could be sewage water seeping from a cracked pipe caused by a partial blockage into the soil and causing the smell. Compare the speed to how quickly your own toilet water gets to the manhole.
When it rains the waterbed levels rise and don't allow the leaked sewage to drain away, instead they rise to floor level. Try and get it fixed sharpish as we have major rain forecast for the coming days.
had that problem 2 years ago mostly in the morns the smell was everywere in the kitchen then would fade away got in a plumber he checked everything inside could not locate the problem went outside opened up the sewer witch was blocked then he put rods infrom another point loosened up the waste then uesd a high pressure water hose cleared the waste problem solved
