I'm a precision engineer and just not needed anymore , as this country doesn't manufacture anything anymore .
Over a dozen companies were i work who were thriving last year
have gone bust , we've tried to rough it out , but are now losing
?2k a month due to overheads + lack of orders .
Hope i'm not sounding too miserable , but it's getting worse rather than better where i am .
Most folk i talk to are planning to drink their way through to the New Year and hope things improve , i'm joining them !!

Hope you get your wish, my bro is in the same boat and has been unemployed for going on 8 months now, theres really nothing reuiring the skillset out there. Unless he wants to move abroad to some third world communist shithole hes out of luck.

Just read in the paper that my area is now at an 18:1 ratio of unemployed fighting for a single job (bearing in mind thats only 18:1 where people actualy are willing to work, so the real ratio of jobs to unemployed is likely far worse)

sorry,just saw your reply. My Humax has gone like HAL in the movie 2001. Has a mind of its own. If dragon loader is in action after a scan damn machine FREEZES ON HD CHANNELS THE only way out is to turn off power which can either result in a new reboot or the PLEASANT CAPTION ; NO CHANNELS AVAILABLE. Thing is im on 42e,16e,9e and 1w. on the humax so i have to re-enter all tps for 4 sats. should be called the INHUMAX.

As every year... i'm just happy watching the kids unwrap their presents, with them great big grins on their faces. that to me is a perfect christmas day.
