i had a similar problem because i travelled a couple of years back before i had a wife and kids my national insurance contributions didnt meet the minimum amount so no dole when i was made redundant great that hey when you have a family to bring up! luckily i wasn't out of work for too long but i could haVe done with the cash and i had to spend money i didn't have to live at the time, ill have to try get even with the buggers some day!

Busted a gut over the past 6 months (and before) to get a job but no such luck. My neighbours (who don't work) managed to have a 2 week holiday in Florida with their young 'uns for Xmas. Where is the bloody justice?

I don't know about you guys but I want to work (am sure you do too) but they don't help by doing what they do to us.

Fearona, I don't care what folk say...this nation of ours has never been great in the eyes of us common folk.

Sharker, the folk that play the system are the ones that don't want to work and are armchair lawyers when it comes to things like that...they just don't help folk like us though because they know that if everyone did it allowances would go down.

Stuart,you summed it up when you mentioned `playing the system`.It`s the effing same over here and unless you work the system you`re out. Why are we on DK? Codes,movies music etc. We are here ,in disguise , to try and use DK`s system. No disrespect meant to any DK`er.

You should be able to get Working Tax Credits or family tax credits. WTC increases when you do 30+ Hours, so if you do say 25 Hours a week, offer your boss 1 Hours free overtime a day, then use it for lunch or traveling to work
