Stop buying at a BP garage and you have to buy somewhere else, which will have been supplied by one of the big three.
All that could happen would be that they will close some of their garages for good, so when the protest ends, you may very well find yourself having to drive a lot further EVERY time you want fuel, as the nearest garage may not only be further away but also in the wrong direction.
l just posted an email that came to me . but we need to stop this some how .. its madness

Correct me if I am wrong, but I was always under the impression that the reason the fuel was so high in the UK is because the government put so much tax on it, to help the pay back the billions of pounds they owe.

So if it's the government putting the tax increase on all fuels then surely it does not matter where you get your fuel from, coz if your using the same amount but from different garages the government are still getting all that tax from you, & as you say while we are in a recession that isn't gonna change.

More taxes = better roads, however this is not always true when the government is corrupt and wastes gas tax money on other things...

yeh the refinerys all supply the same people whether supermarket or petrol station its all just branded different like KP make just about evry own brand of crisps and hovis (british bakeries) make all nearly all cheap supermarket own brand bread

the difference is they just change the quantities of additives in the mix you may notice that BP fuel looks diffrent (diesel anyway) to supermarket fuel this is because it has a lot of detergent in it

the main problem is the tax we pay the actual forecourts dont actually make that much money on a litre and most places we buy are all linked to the same roots somewhere along the line so where you buy your fuel from is mainly irrelevant

its the government using fuel as a stealth tax that are the big criminals knowing that we cant function in the modern world without it

As much as I, and every driver would like to see lower fuel. It aint gonna happen by this chain letter plan. It has been tried and failed before.
The same as protests and blocking refinaries etc. Doomed to fail, coz we're not French, and whimper back to the nearest open petrol station when we see 'our' car approaching the red.
I think it is shit tho, the rip off prices and rip off government, but I won't be annoying 10 mates with the emails.

dj simo is spot on, i work in a refinrey( bp dont own any refinery's in britain anymore but still get a % due to the oil fields) and we get asda tesco morrisions, tankers in all the time ,where di you think they got theyr petrol from? tesco dont own a refinery nor do the rest ,you have to understand oil comes directly into our refinery via the north sea rigs we proccess it to make fule ,diesel and aviation fuel
