Still suffering.
I've got a question.
You know you are only allowed a maximum of 8 Paracetamol in a 24 hour period. Well 8 paracetamol over 24 hours is not enough for me as I'm not sleeping (not had a decent sleep since Thursday 29th July, I'm lucky if I sleep for 2 hours a day), my question is, can I alternate my painkillers? i.e, take paracetamol then once that wears off I take some Ibuprofen then once that wears off I take paracetamol again and so on?
That would double my intake of painkillers, 8 x Paracetamol and 8 x Ibuprofen.
Is this safe, or would I wake up with a liver the size of a space hopper or maybe even dead.?

Now, I wonder if 8 x Paracetamol, 8 x Aspirin and 8 x Ibuprofen would be ok too?

I normally just get on with my life as it's usually just a mild irritation
This time however my throat is trying to commit suicide.
My tonsils are the size of golf balls and they are covered in spots of pus.Comment

That's not actually my mouth, I Googled that image, but mine is similar - although not quite as bad as that poor soul.
I thought I had thrush aswell mate, but Doctor examined me yesterday and said it was a bacterial infection of the tonsils, those are actually little pustules of dead cells.
It started off as a common cold but somehow I ended up with an infection in my ears, nose and throat. I'm still coughing up loads of thick green phlegm but it's a relief everytime some comes up - better out than in as Shrek would say. The good news is for the first time in over a week I'm currently not in any pain
Yesterday Doctor gave me antibiotics and something to reduce the swelling, I've ditched the Paracetamol and I'm now using Anadin Extra. I wish I had gotten the Anadin Extra sooner, they are the only painkiller that I've taken that has more or less wiped out the pain.

Paracetamol is only good for mild to moderate pain. You need Asprin, Iboprofen or Codeine for anything more severe. That's not actually my mouth, I Googled that image, but mine is similar - although not quite as bad as that poor soul.

Now you tell me!
Anadin Extra is 300mg of Asprin and 200mg of Paracetamol, they are a ~~~~ing Godsend.
I took 2 earlier at around 12:30 and they are still supressing the pain. I can feel it slowly creeping back though, but it's still negligible compared to what I had been suffering. I'll take another in an hour or so.
I also bought a packet of Ibuprofen as backup, but so far they've not been needed.
Painkillers Rock! '

Dequacain also numb the throat & have an antiseptic ingredient. As far as pain goes, I have a prescribed co-codamol... 30mg codine & 500mg paracetamol (I'm not allowed asprin). These little buggers send me to the moon on a full dose.Canker
