all the garage had become was a place for free illegal hacked software, keygens and codes. so all i get is customers telling me theve got the programs to diagnose there car for nothing from here and dont want to pay for the knowlage on how to use it, untill thet make it worse then they expect you to put it right for a fraction of the cost. theres a difference between learning the systems and just wanting ur car done for nothing. if you cant post information with a obvious knowlage of what your talking about then u shouldnt be in there.
i would say that there should be a warning system before being banned as people do post things without knowing there doing wrong and like now a lot seem upset that suddenly theve been kicked out and dont understand why.

I like many other people have downloaded software from this site. Unfortunately I don't have any software to contribute. Most of the software I have working I purchased on Flea bay. I like many other people am not very good with computers or software. But I did find the garage to be a very good source of knowledge which will be sadly missed. Eg I nearly bought a BMW GT1 fro Flea bay but after checking on the garage found the seller to be untrustworthy and saved myself 800 euros. I am very sad to see the garage closed but I do know it was done for a valid reason.

all the info that was in the garage was available before it came along. its nothing special ( not knocking you guys) it just puts it in a convenient place. for those with enough interest in what they want to learn then its all still out there you just have to know what your doing, for all those who dont know how to find it start learning.

All i can say is im pleased that it is not anything i have done directly to get restricted.

And im with the mod,s on this one my trust is with there decision and i will take the results of there actions at face value .
What ever the out come of all this!
it must be a Logistical nightmare running such a popular site as this with the legal side too .

I must say i agree with the stand that the admins have taken if in fact that there are some dishonest people that has been taken the wealth of information and resources from this site and sold it , Shame on those people what a low thing to do. You must be congratulated for screwing it up for everybody. I'm first to admit i have only been a member for a very short time and i only stumbled across it whilst looking for some assistance, I haven't had a chance to post as i have been busy reading. I also don't post whore just to get post count up, I wont comment on something i know little about as it only starts conflict. The Garage section offered much information and the vast array of downloads which offered a great level for self education. Hopefully one day admins may allow access to it again.

I think our blocking users is not a good way. How can we be active in the topic that interests us because it did not come to be? For me in Poland is similar forum which does this type of lock.
But there are forums that are paid. After you have subscribed to access all branches of a garage.

If this is true, then why is 95% of your posts requests for information or software, yet you are unable to give back...... actually you should be thanking us, now your customers can't get what they want anymore, and as you can already find everything elsewhere it's a win/win situation for you

I have read now all new topics and stickys but i'm a little bit confused anyway?
Ok i haven'T shared any software, cause i do not have any other software, but I have linked to other software!
My goal was all the time to help people if there are question the aren't been aswered or which answer was false!
But I think too why answer to a topic if 100 people have done it, i don't want to spam?!?
I have a great knowledge about automotives but i don'T know how to share?
I'm a engeneer from hungary an my only interest is in the "garage" section.
So how can i help other peoples and answer posts if I can't reach it?
I understand why there are new rules but i don't understand how to get access and how to write answers or how to help other peoples if the section isn't reachable?
I think it isn't clever to post in other sections like satelite or cable if I'm not interested in so there I can't help other users!
Hm..it's confusing for me what I can do, to have access....sorry for my english!

I see a lot of people complaining who have never contributed anything.

At the start I struggled to give anything back too.
My first step was to become a supporter, to thank the people who run this site and to help ensure it keeps running.

The second step was to look for a common question that people always asked and decided to write a definitive guide on it. It cost me hundreds of dollars a quite a lot of time but it was worth it, I gave something back.

To all those people crying that they now can't get access to the garage forum and think they did their best, did you really...?

I must admit the the Garage section was a great source of information.I am in the Automotive indusrty for over 16 years now and I believe I could contribute to this forum.I cannot help with other sections of this great forum

1.How can we contribute and share information?
2.What criteria will one need to access the garage section?.
3.Proffessionals should be encouraged to provide information.

I have to say that I too was a bit surprised, but after reading about the reasons why the admins/mods did what they had to do, it makes quite a lot of sense. I joined recently and am still trying to figure out how to usefully contribute.
