what is with the car section EPC, Diagnostic, TIS can anyone access to this site?

or i am not supposed for this site?

If there isn't no possibility you can erase my account, because this forum isn't interesting for my without the garage section.

I have to say that I too was a bit surprised, but after reading about the reasons why the admins/mods did what they had to do, it makes quite a lot of sense. I joined recently and am still trying to figure out how to usefully contribute.

If you?re interested in the automotive section then you must know something about cars. Even if it's how to re-upholster a car seat mate, people will find this information useful.

If you?re trying to find out how to solve a problem you have, once you solve it, document it and make a guide on it so you can help the next person.

It will take you some time but if you genuinely want to give some back for what you have taken, it's a labour of love.

Hello Thommy. Only the mods or some higher level member can give you the full answer to your question but I think it`s not going to be more different than mine. You are here form march, about five months, and for the time being you have made 12 posts. Judging by the quick view of your post I can tell that you have come here just to take, not to give and share. You are one of the best examples why the garage section is now closed. Nothing personal and no hard feelings.

I agree with the admin that it is impossible to take all time and to give nothing.
But if at me now only those materials which already are available at a forum, whether I place them at a forum, what they would repeat already earlier placed?
Whether there will be it usual duplication of the information which will complicate search of the necessary materials?

I too am sad to see that the garage has been restricted. I joined the forum in Jan 2010 as it seemed interesting and have not really visited it... since i was asked to try and install the BMW DIS software on a MAC computer (as i own one myself).

I know my posts are (well, 0), but i have now found the reason i joined the forum... (and a good thing i did as registrations are closed).

EVERYWHERE on the web, it only talks about setting up the DIS, TIS and GT1 on a PC... nowhere does it talk about MAC. Struggling to do this, the GK forum offers some of the latest software, which i think can help me in my quest.

Anyway, i think you know where i am heading with this... will it be possible to gain access to the garage section so i can try and do this? I will comment everything i do and will post up my results / findings / instructions. I am more interested in the garage section... which does mean that i will not really be a contributing member to the forum in anything else... i am not into satellite boxes, cable boxes etc.

It would be great if you could let me know what you think on this.

You are absolutely right.
I can not see the reason why everyone wants only to have access to software.
I spend a lot of time in dk everyday, in fact the last week im on vacation but i try everyday to find an internet access point in order to check DK forum.
Mostly i post in automotive help category using my experience and i really try to help anyone who needs help.
I dont care if i can download software as long as i can help and get helped in problems that come up everyday.

It seems to me that the rights of those users to whom now have limited the help is necessary.
And that who can offer this help, not so will suffer from closing of this section of a forum

But how can you help other people in the future if you do not learn... and DK provides a great platform for this... is you offer something back for learning, then why not and try...

And another question... if this is a forum for people who 'know' why is it even a forum... isn't the idea of the forum collaboration? People who know to share to people who don't and help them learn.... If every member on the forum already knows what the other members know, whats the point?

I may not know about car softwares, but i know about softwares, and there are other stuff i know about cars... i don't understand what the harm of learning about these is, if there is an interest and a positive outcome.

I must say jlmax, with no offence, what you said sounds very nose up... If this is truly the case and this is a forum only for people who already 'know it all' then please delete my account... i don't 'know it all'.
