i too have lost my father to lung cancer in 1978 ( i was 8 years old )
so know all too well what this devastating illness can do my friend
i regularly give to Marie Curie as do the rest of my family

and do not appreciate being shotgunned into making any type of charitable gifts in this way

if i want to give i would do it silently
as you are giving not for any reward but just to help with a cause
and will do so with anonymity thanking you

not being selfish but if its charity its without any pressure
