I think we are all together reunited England, Scotland, Wales, N Ireland, glued at TV my Mrs keeps crying watching the ceremonies and I just had to go out now and then, one off those things I can see no end to it.

I'd like to see them repay the expected 7 Billion pound cost to the Tax Payer by having a Bank Holiday. I'm sure there are plenty of tourists coming to this Country to see it but there's plenty leaving this shore to avoid it. Just the 20 million cost of security would fund a few health centres etc.

Having served 24 years in the Forces I've met my fair share of the Oxygen Thieves and you'd be surprised the hiden costs involved in a visit. Not just by a senior Royal but also some of the lesser leaches. Imagine having your leave cancelled and made to practice doing drill for weeks on end. Repainting the camp etc. None of which comes free. I'd hate to think the cost to the Defence Budget paying the wages of the Household Calvary for the months leading up to a 4hr do. Money that could be put to saving lives and training for war.

As for America they don't need a Royal Family for tourism as Disney Land alone attracts over 16 million visitors per year. New York gets over 44 million visitors. It's all propaganda about how the Royal family draw tourists. If they weren't here they'd still come for the Castles, Scenery, Stonehenge and to visit the land of their ancestors.

Here's my thoughts on Blair & Brown not getting invites...

Blair was the most popular PM during his stint at No.10 because he gave away loads of money. But this was all done on credit.

When it became obvious that this couldn't continue he jumped ship. Leaving Brown, the scum bag who was in charge of the budget under Blair, to try & sort out all the shit. While pushing through a load of unwanted & very unpopular legislations through parliment just to make a bit of money on the side.


And people wonder why they failed to get an invite.

I seem to remember John Major being employed by Prince Charles as some sort of tutor for William when he was younger so that's possibly why he was invited and like her or not, Mrs Thatcher made history by being the first woman pm Britain ever had so another possible reason why she still gets invited to major events of state.
