Watched a documentary on BBC (currently on catchup, if you've got Vermin) called 'Made In Britain'.. hosted by Evan Davis... Yes, I know what you're all gonna say... only folks that listen to Radio 4 would watch this.. anyway...

Interestingly, the documentary stated that Britain is the 7th biggest manufacturer in the world. Well, you could have fooled me.. All I've seen is manufacturing decline, but my measure like most folks is the number of people employed, whereas the real economic measure is the total value of products exported. Apparently, Britain specialises in 'high value' products... like McClaron sports cars at ?163K each..

Nevertheless.. I would have thought that ?3 BN was high value. The other point is, it's not really significant anymore whether the company is British owned... for example Nissan Qashqui ... manufactured in Sunderland..

And... of what relevance is all this, with respect to trains. I don't know, just thought I'd talk a load o' p1sh.

WHOA HANG ON, have you EVER tried to drive these expensive cars.

Take the Inglish Astin Martin - all bags of crap, Lotus, TVR all road going boats.

There was a rumor going around that clearly states these car makers 'ASSEMBLE' here in Ingland something to do with importing - they can only import xxx number of cars, but they ASSEMBLE them here they can do what they like (peugot factory - coventy - shut?)

As for original topic, there no need to put horns on them, the dick round here don't use them, NO LIE have been 3 seconds from been taken 'off-line' - in more than one way and more than once by some twat driver not hooting

Yes.. you're correct in what you say about assembly... was true for the computer manufacturing industry also... The term they used was 'screw-driver-ing' where US manufacturers used the 'screw-drivering' factories in Scotland to assemble imported parts so as to access the European market... (a combination of cheap & skilled workforce... so they said )

Never had the chance to drive a McClaron, Astin Martin or Lotus... Drove customer's Ferrari once... thought it was utter sh1te...

the Ferrari that the ginger tosser on tv GAVE AWAY has a nice hole
in the floor, from which the security system can view the road - and any incoming rain - it was there or not at all.

Well... the Ferrari was in for altenfanator. Customer had been quoted ?3,000+ from dealership.. We quoted half the price......... using some other altenfanator lying around the workshop, that we highly modificated to make it fit - altenfanator originally from what.. not got a clue...

So... there's a Ferrari going around with a non-standard altenfanator.. (We did provide the standard guarantee... which expires on vehicle leaving the premises)
