oddly enough the school is in breach. There is no way they can enforce a trousers only rule. It's most likely that the school are attempting to apply something that is against the Sex Discrimination Act 1975. The school will lose and for this the taxpayer will foot the bill. Excellent use of public money.

That's out of date. The Equality and Human Rights Commission takes the view that schools are allowed to set rules about what pupils should and should not wear at school.

The only exceptions should be for cultural or religious reasons.

Thats a real stupid rule, Girls should be allowed to wear skirts as long as they are the correct length, make it a lot easier for a bit of fingering behind the bike sheds
