you are entitled to your opinion skeg. i can only tell you of my experiences etc. ive also dealt with lovely people on the phone who are in tears at having to claim benefit for the first time. you can tell the difference with a genuine person in the first few minutes of the call and yes there are thousands and thousands of people who have never worked. thats why they are cracking up at incapacity benefit and income support being done away with.
ie up until 3 yrs ago if a single parent had a child under 16 they didnt need to work - automatically got income support for those 16 yrs. it has changed in the last 3 yrs to a child under 7. when child is approaching its 7th birthday they get a letter informing them their income support will end and they will need to claim jsa. 80% do not claim jsa but go on this sick and that is a fact
