I've always felt that the comments made about Margaret Thatcher have been far too bruital harsh and unfair. (not just here btw ), The only reason I can come up with for this is, because she is a woman, as the Prime Ministers who succeeded her have been far more Tory and right-wing in my opinion. In all the time New Labour were in power, never did I hear them talk about the plight of the working man.... it was all 'families' and 'child poverty' talk.

I feel that Margaret Thatcher should be entitled to a full state funeral, as being a former UK Prime Minister..she did after all work hard for the United Kingdom... which is more than I can say for Royalty.

my hatred for her has nothing to do with her being a woman, or just for the sake of it,
firstly how many of thatchers supporters on here, actually was a working adult under her reign, because if you weren't you can understand how bad it got,
            4 million unemployed, in 1979, it was 1.2 million - 1982, 4 million.
            17% mortgage interest rates
tried to scrap free school milk
decimate community's by closing down all of our major manufacturing base, which caused the splintered families we see today, not to mention the hundreds of people who topped themselve because of the shame of being out of work
creation of the yuppie in the mid eighties, who's philosophy was/is greed is good, and lets not forget, the yuppies of the 80s are the same people who are running our bank and financial sector today,
            the poll tax
the unjust treatment of certain community's, hence the 1981 riots,
the reason for her not putting sanctions on South Africa was because Dennis had millions tied up in gold mining there,
the scrapping of the wage council, so employers could exploit the mass unemployed by offering sweatshop wages,
the changing of the voting boundaries, making it nigh on impossible for her to get voted out, and lets remember, over 60% of the population didn't vote for her
if you really believe in thatchers policies then you must believe that money and greed is the only motivation for people to do anything, because that's what she stood for,
            I could go on.

I never voted for her but I agreed with breaking the loony left unions who were calling strikes just to bankrupt the country.
In fact I never voted at all because labour had a prat called Foot as leader then Kinock so looking back she probably was the best leader we had at the time. I did vote for Blair and I am sorry instead of the unions bankrupting britian labour did

Frankie Boyle had the right idea.
He said that for the price of a state funeral you'd be better off buying everyone in Scotland a shovel and digging a hole deep enough to bury her in Hell.
