    RIP Jack Tramiel 1928-2012

One of the pioneers of gaming and
    modern computers passed away earlier
    today. Jack Tramiel launched the
    Commodore 64, the most popular
    personal computer in history which
shaped many of the things we take for
granted in terms of computers and
gaming today. A survivor of Auschwitz,
Tramiel emigrated to the US and worked
in the army and as a New York cabbie
    before founding Commodore. After
    successfully launching the C64, Tramiel
resigned from the company he founded
    and founded the Atari corporation
which launched among other things, the
Atari ST, Lynx and Jaguar. He was a
visionary. Tramiel was the Steve Jobs of
    his day.

That's sad- the commodore computers gave me many many hours of pleasure as a kid, what's hard to believe is why the company never survived to play a prominent part alongside the big players today.

So will the Vicar at the funeral, have to type "8,*" to load the coffin, and will the coffin, be making belleping noises for 15 mins that it takes to load?

So what if the mains dips, do they have to empty the church and start again?

Perhaps a "Action Replay" or a "Super Snap" "Black Jack?" Could be used in the expanshion bay.

External reset on the coffin, pins 1 and 3 - of the expanshion bay - DO NOT short pins 1 + 2 as this takes out the 5 volt feed.

Damn the talk of the C64 takes me back.

Still remember my dad taking me into Dixons to pick it up as an upgrade to my Speccy 48k.

Was jack who pushed for common and everyday use of cdroms in computer from what I remember. Shame he's dead.
