That's impossible, once your account shows zero balance you cannot withdraw money from the atm machines. I know because that is the situation I find myself in!

However, the worms of today are generally designed to do much more than just spread.

Many will now install back doors, so that the infected computer can be accessed by the attacker, or indeed anyone he/she may have sold access to banking.

              Banks are fighting deferent wars!!!

yep as you say S-J 13 banking groups were infected by worms.

It WAS NOT impossible then but im sure it is now, you dont honestly think the banks would let people continue to clean their cash machines out, so they obviously rectified the problem , tens of thousands were taken from cash machines in my area alone - FACT.

It's not fact it is your claim. From day one of this issue you could only take out from an atm machine the balance showing on the account any more than that you had to go into the bank itself with proof of id, anyone who has done that and knowingly taken money they didn't have could find themselves subject to charges of fraud.

It is a fact which you cannot argue about because you know NOTHING about it , you only know what i posted but i can assure you that it is true and is not only my "claim" as you say.

I've done a bit of searching on the web about Ulster Bank withdrawals during the meltdown.

Lots of complaints about not being able to withdraw cash from ATMs, but absolutely nothing about them dishing out freebies, or being able to withdraw more than their daily limit.

I "know nothing about it" I'm a customer (but not for long) and am directly effected by the problem, have been since the day it began.
I can assure you the people making these claims are telling porkies as it wasn't possible to withdraw more than your balance, once that balance showed zero you then had to enter the bank and do a face to face transaction with proof of ID not only is this fact, but it its also common sense.

By the way, I have heard similar claims in my own area, but I know the muppets making such claims and they tell porkies too!

maybe in this particular case, it was a different bug in that particular atm.. and not allied to the bug that stopped people getting money. its happened before

Maybe it was shady, but then that would make it an unrelated issue which is what I'm pointing out.
