No, prices won't be going down due to the fall in the price of oil. What is likely to happen is that since the government will be collecting less revenue with the price being slightly cheaper of late I'd expect the government to increase the tax by around 2p per litre quite soon..My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far

Chief Secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander will call on major petrol and diesel distributors to drop their prices further in light of recent declines in the cost of oil.
Oil has fallen from about $115 (?72) per barrel in June to about $84 per barrel, a decline of about a quarter.
In comparison, petrol prices in the UK have come down from a high of about 131.7 pence per litre in the summer to 124.22 pence.

However, right at the end
So the retailers would like us to keep on paying high prices to keep their profits higher, the government would like us to pay more to keep their duty and VAT high. Are we supposed to feel sorry for them and out of shame agree to pay more? However the group representing independent fuel retailers said the announcements would further endanger local petrol stations. My master plan is to live forever..... going to plan so far

Prices over here went down but depending were you live,, in the capital prices vary between 151 cents and 145 per litre petrol and around 141 and 135 per litre diesel. The cheapest i've seen was 139 cents for petrol and 132 for d diesel. Now there's some garages selling boggy petrol and diesel it's called stretching and it's cost a lot of people new engines or a lot of money to put them road worthy. Insurance company's state your not covered if you buy the boggy juice. No, prices won't be going down due to the fall in the price of oil.
