lainie i dont hide the fact im out off work, at the moment i get 96 pound a week thats it not any thing else they dont pay my rent or any thing like that but i no what u r saying the long term jobless do seem to milk it but i dont get treated any better even if i have paid tax for the last 30 odd years, yes i think u should off paid tax to get jsa maybe then i would not be looked down at when i sign.I no people who have never had a job and there my age but they get away with it thats where its wrong and needs sorting but i also find the government is trying to make a big thing about all this so people go on about this than talk about them and the banks so lets just blame the unemployed for everything.

theres prob loads on here that dont work but prob not honest enough to reveal what they get. it does seem to be the "workers" that reply to threads re benefits.
i was just talking from personal experience from when i was younger and we was fiddling she was single parent who said i didnt live with her

when we went legit after csa got hold of me ( no more csa)i was ?15 a week better off working than us both been on rock n roll

that was after rent/c tax benefit ect

but i do understand that depending on your c/tax band and your weekly rent that you could probably be less than ?15 better off working

not sure if its changed though lainie but didnt the tax credits ensure you were better off working even if only very slightly??

but like i said earlier to get people into work you need to make it worthwhile i think people need to be at least a ?100 a week better of at work than dole to make a difference

Nobody should be "looked down" at etc for having the misfortune of being out of work. Get your pa's full name and complain.ask for that jobcentres managers name and contact number etc.

@red not sure how that happened. Can only imagine benefit being sanctioned. Unf the way working tax credits works means u get more when u initially start work then it gets less. I totally disagree with that and think it should increase to salary of ?20000. It does gaul me that some on benefits get more than my wage. Imo benefits discriminate against couples. There will b massive changes coming in during the next few yrs which can hopefully sort at least some of the complex system we have now.

Im no expert on tax credits but there is also the disability element of wtc.

There is more things u qualify for in getting a job if u have been on esa (or incap benefit) for over 6 months i think it is. If anyone needs any info they can pm me.

You think its bad now for work and low wages wait until next december 2013 when thousands of Romanians and Bulgarians can move here ,Labour signed a restiction in 2005 which expire next December . When the polish moved here constuction wages dropped by several pounds per hour well mine did .The average wage in these countries is ?200 per month so expect them to come here and under cut you

To understand how we got into today's mess we need to look at the past, we need to look at the dynamics of our political system and how its screwed the economy and welfare system up.
There is blame on both sides and the fact that you need to pick a side is part of the problem.
This is gonna be a long one, if you have the attention span of a flee is best to avoid this post.

A think the problem is previous governments serving their own policies for their own needs with very little cross party influence..
The 2 parties in the past that had real power were worlds apart in their policies and the solution probably lay somewhere in the middle.
Labour completely ****ed up in the 70s, 3 day week, litter piled up on the streets and even the dead didn't get buried.
The unions were militant ruled with too much power, they managed to bring companies to their knees with red tape and strikes, British Leyland was massive but under union control it opened the door to the Japanese and was soon reduced to nothing.
You couldn't refuse to strike or go against them without being called a scab and alienated, they were bloody thugs.

So when Thatcher came to power it was clear that things would change and a war between her and the unions was gonna happen.
Thatcher knew that previous wars had been lost by former Tories, it was the reason she came to lead the party and she knew the price of loosing..
One of the biggest was the coal miners, they had received massive subsidies year after year without question.
IMO what ****ed the miners up was that dinosaur that led them, Scargill was a militant left wing socialist who had gained this arrogance after seeing off Edward Heath's government,he felt Thatcher was a woman who should be at home doing dishes and she should be scared of him.
He was so arrogant that he put the miners out to strike without a ballot and by doing that he sealed their fate.
The strike was now illegal and war began, she didn't just win but she went on to virtually wipe out all coal production..

The public at first were mostly on her side, they had seen years of stagnant socialist rule, no choices, high prices and no enterprise.
It was clear that if industries didn't change and unions brought into line then the country would be a basket case.
The problem was Thatcher wasn't going to just pull out the teeth of the unions, she was gonna make them obsolete in as many industries as she could, the end result being what it is today , we have no rights.
She believed that governments don't tend to run business well, so her solution was to sell the lot..
Break it all up and sell it off, the companies would compete in a free market driving down prices and free of union influence.
They would be self regulated with terms and conditions to adhere to, these would be enforced by third party regulators that the companies themselves would pay for it.
This meant a massive tax saving for your average person and would inspire growth prosperity.
She wiped out all the red tape in buying your own council house, women could buy their own house which was unheard of back then.
Although she didn't really subsidise business she would allow short term tax breaks to encourage new modern industries to thrive, the retail and banking industry would boom under Thatcher.

All this looked so attractive, especially to a younger generation who didn't want to work in some manky coal mine.
People saw their bills come down and services become more reliable, competition was fierce and it looked like she had pulled it off, Britain was reformed and holding its own in the world....

Like so many political plans it only served in the short term, in the long term all the flaws were exploited to the max and much of her plan imploded..
The new banking industry seemed to be less regulated each year as the politicians drooled at their profits and wanted more, they eventually brought everyone to their knees.
Self regulation today means no regulation, companies can easily afford the pitiful fines set by toothless regulators.
The fierce competition has became a multinational monopoly with minimum prices set by companies.
Services have crumbled as the private sector has failed to invest in maintenance, water and railways are good examples..
In some cases the government has had to subsidise business again after years of making big profits, that wasn't part of Thatchers plan, neither was corporate's not paying their taxes.
People have had to deal with wages being cut or poor money offered for professional services as corporates strangle the little man.
Agencies have became acceptable in today's Britain, full time jobs are at a premium as is the former perks like pensions.
Stability is non existent with boom and bust ever more frequent as Britain is at the mercy of the powerful few.
There are many more examples of the legacy of Thatcher, too many to list.

The end result that we have today is proof that in private hands most former public owned industry has failed the consumer.
Price hikes are frequent with service standards falling and the shareholder is no1 priority.
We know the other way doesn't work as the end result is over regulation, bloated management, poor performance and draconian militant rules.

A think we need to meet in the middle and take the good points from both sides.
We need the private sector drive and competition qualities with "some" public sector securities..
The only time the government should be involved is to solve major problems with total neutrality.
The government should be making plans for long term business investment that allows flexibility whilst maintaining some level of security.
The benefits and education system needs to be overhauled to serve the needy and not the scroungers.
Sick people need to be assessed fairly and not by some private company driven by targets and couldn't give a sh**.
Our foreign policy needs reformed as does our defence budget and immediate scrapping of nukes.
Its not rocket science, its having a government that's not loyal to anything but the people that voted them in and has the nuts to make big changes over time.

Our system is failing and if you expect these utter clowns in this bastard creation of a coalition to solve them, you will be waiting a helluva long time.

Its not about knowing things others don't, people are well aware of their history, some more than others depending on age, it was just a post at the way i see it, many will see it different which is fine but a think most will agree that our system isn't working right and the people representing us are a bunch of self serving idiots looking to get a better career when their political career ends..

A would start with our tax laws which are sky high and getting worse each year, a recovering economy needs high taxes like a bag on its hip, its simple, the more people have the more they spend which creates growth.
How can a oil producing country pay 65% tax on fuel, its madness..

Tbh, a could go on all day, our system has so many things wrong and it wont get better anytime soon, am not saying Britain is a basket case but a do think things should be much better for normal hard working people like us.
We seem to be getting the rough end of the stick and pressed more and more each year, it just feels like its one law for us and another for the rich and powerful who have today's politicians in their pockets..

Killing Vanessa Feltz is a good idea, it wont help the economy but it would make me feel better.
Then Simon Cowell, Cowells family, dog and anybody that knows him..
Louis Walsh, nothing fancy just shoot him in the face with a bazooka..

How should a know how to fix the economy Meaty,,, when a made that post a just smoked 4 grams of high powered amphetamine...
