Scratch-cards for sale, but jackpot has already been won

Lottery scratch-cards are still on sale despite the fact that their ?100,000 prizes have already been won, it has been reported.

The ?2 cards, which promise customers the huge sums despite the fact the top five prizes have already been claimed, are still being sold in shops, supermarkets and petrol stations across the country.

National Lottery operator Camelot says that they red Cash cards can legally remain on sale, but the false promises they now represent has come under criticism.

Martin Lewis, of the Money Saving Expert website, told the Daily Mail he believed that the customers should either be warned about the situation or the cards should be withdrawn and replaced.

?I think many people playing would be disappointed to know there?s no chance of a dream win. With these cards, it truly could not be you,? he said.

Says it all about the uk mate and what we pay for and what we get.
Beef burgers with horse and pork.
Scratch cards with jackpots gone and phone calls to vote on tv shows that charge a premium for the vote but the lines are closed and the vote not counted.

In relation to scratchcards, I would like to complain about Lucky Dip lottery tickets.
I have never won anything by buying a Lucky Dip therefore they are far from lucky so surely, according to trading standards law, I am entitled to a refund for a non-winning ticket.
The name should be changed from Lucky Dip to something more truthful like You Might Win Something But You Probably Won't Dips.

I have done the Lottery since it started in November 1994.
The Saturday Jackpot money used to range between ?8 to ?10 Million and a single rollover brought prize money of ?20 to ?22 Million.
The prize money has dropped because of the greed of Camelot and the introduction of twice weekly draws and scratch cards.
The 100% increase in in ticket prices will result in a huge drop in participants (myself included) and a further reduction in prize money despite the increase in price.
And of course the "Good Causes" will suffer, although I often questioned some of the so called "Good Causes".

Anyone really bought a scratcard thinking they were promised a huge sum

Is this really a suprise ? if the jackpot was left till last card sold people would say there was no point buying

when scratch cards first started they used to announce the winners of big sums in the paper and then no1 would buy the rest of the cards so then they stopped this
and its also against the law for a gambling/games/betting companys to lose money/make a profit under a certain percentage

All lottery activities are a tax on the stupid...

I've seen girls spending their benefits on these cards, muttering "I'd best win something on these, I need to get dinner for the kids"
As she stands in a pile of used cards!

This isn't news, it's common knowledge. It even tells you on the cards that with each win there are less prizes available.

How can people feel cheated when you can check on the prizes remaining on every type of scratch card?
Cumalot have a web page somewhere where you can check on what's left to win on their cards. From there you can make up your own mind.

Having said that, last week someone won ?10,000 on a scratch card in the local shop. Given the area, I'll bet they're dead from drink & drugs within 3 months.
