Go back to the 50's (that's the period after the second world war & before the vietnam war). There was a little war know as the Korean war (this is the war being fought in M.A.S.H).

Sorry for the baby talk, but some people have to be spoon fed

It was basically a war between north & south Korea. But unlike the American Civil War, this time the good guys were in the south.
The numbers involved differ depending on which report you read. But it's safe to say that the US forces made up about 80% of the southern fighting force, China made up about 75% of the north's fighting force with Russia providing arms & materials to both China & North Korea.

Now this time round China & Russia have told North Korea that they're on their own with this one. While the rest of the civilized world are either supporting action, or neutral, against North Korea.

To me it's sabre rattling, that lad has played to many xbox games. If one or more long range missiles are launched by the north, the US will send in the stealth bombers on tactical strikes to wipe out any other missile sites. The North really can't win..even with a swift knockout blow to one or two targets. This has more to do with their feeling of helplessness due to their reliance on foreign aid. We support their starving masses, but dictate internal matters to them. "Stop playing with nuclear development or you won't get any supper". And just like a child they lash out at the people in power.

What really worries me is if something does happen, I won't be able to upgrade to the Galaxy Note 3 in september.

On a lighter note, if any of you have some free time between 11am & 3pm go to rock102.com & listen live.
It's an early morning radio show in the New England area of the states. They are taking the threats from North Korea so seriously that they even mimic Kim Jong-il's parody voice in Team America - World Police. Caught it yesterday & nearly wet myself laughing.

you only need to look at America and Israel.

we where talking about North Korea a Communist state so why would I write about right wing governments
I know nobody is allowed to say anything against the left by some on here but you said all right wing governments
kill millions of innocent people the only person who came any where near to the left for killing was hitler
and he only slaughtered half what Stalin did
So did you agree with Thatcher when she gave protecting to General Pinochet.

It is also now the main excuse for the UK buying into the next Trident, well done North Korea and Iran for helping the UK government justify the taxpayers footing the bill for a deterrent that we will never use. Dave will be a fan, as will the Americans because it's them we'll be paying for Trident. Now we're committed to buying it Iran North Korea can get rid and the backhanders can start again.

The UK would be "foolish" to abandon Trident in the face of the potential threat of nuclear attack from North Korea and Iran, David Cameron has said.
Writing in the Daily Telegraph, he said the country still needed the "ultimate weapon of defence".
The prime minister said the nuclear danger had "increased" since the end of the Cold War.

The Lib Dems want the UK to explore a cheaper alternative to the Tories' ?20bn plan to replace Trident.

Mr Cameron is committed to maintaining a round-the-clock submarine-based nuclear missile system of the kind Britain has had since the late 1960s.

BBC News - UK must keep Trident nuclear deterrent - David Cameron

The arms dealers and manufacturers must be rubbing their hands with glee.

Its a waste of time us having trident we have to ask Washington for the code to fire them so without US permission
they are useless ,might as well let the yanks pay for them and run them

Well since it is they that sell us them, they are more than happy to take our money, they'd be really really stupid not to. The only stupid ones are the ones who buy something that they will never use and, as you say, can't in any case. Can we get a refund if they're found to be faulty?

Talking of having nuclear arms as a deterrent is a bit daft really. No-one wants to use them and the only people who profit from them are the countries and companies that manufacture them, and as we have proved time and time again we'll go back for more. Buying nukes is a stupid waste of money which could go towards paying of the debt. Wonder how many MP's, and banks, have shares in companies that make or maintain any parts of such weapons and that industry.

Thatcher stole my milk as well

Though in all seriousness it does seem like all world leaders (and I'll use that term loosely) want to go out and arm themselves to the teeth, pick an argument with some other country and just to prove they can - and hope they win the next election on the back of it. However it's never them who go out to fight and die it's the people of the country that do that while the so called leaders generally stay as far away from the conflict as possible and lead from a nice safe distance.

However it sells weapons. I have to wonder if Jim whatever his name is is being paid by arms companies as a salesman on commission
