Nice post mate but i'd like to think i'd be heading upwards when i go whereas that murdering witch should be burning in hell for eternity along with other despots such as the likes of Adolf Hitler and Saddam Hussein for her crimes against humanity were no better!i have no feelings for maggie at all.only thing i do feel is a human being has died.her friends and family can deal with that, but i remember myself getting paid off when building trade went down tubes when maggie came in,and i remember the poll tax she hit the scots with, and i remember the big battles outside Bilston Glen pit when i was there...everyone can slag maggie now and feel good about it,but one sure thing she will meet us all eventualy.Last edited by KDC; 20 April, 2013, 09:46.Neil Francis Lennon: "The only way a title is tainted is if you've won it and you cheated to win it."Comment

Dont see the problem with Thatcher tbh unless your a miner
nobody else has bothered to open them back up 20 years after she went why?
If she wasnt into privatising all sorts the country would have been screwed years ago
Can you imagine the black holes in Public sector Pensions for miners, steel workers train and bus drivers ect
Yes Maggie caused upset
but that is because she realised there is no magic money tree
you cannot give every worker what they want or they strike, funds are never infinitite there is a time when somebody has to pay the consequence
thatcher didnt ruin britain or industry
its a collective thing, and its mainly down to the emergence of growing economies doing the work cheaper than we can, striking all the time 3 day weeks and piss poor cars didntt help either.
Government taking on all industry lame ducks
She upset people no doubt, but she had balls and sometimes leaders need them, because the people are wrong sometimes, and tbh i was always brought up as a kid anti thatcher the milk snatcher but as i got older i realised that sometimes you have to go against the people
money is not infinite everything has a price from jobs to healthcare, there are much bigger pictures than the ones people see, and there are reasons that she did what she did.
Do you think she actually wanted to do it?
No politician in the world who wants votes wants people to lose jobs, industries to close or wants communities to suffer. It is stupid and short sighted to even think it. In an ideal world politicians want to please as many as possible to remain in power.
We are running a similar line now, condems cut cut, labour it seems although oppose everything have no defined policy it seems other than spend more dosh and bloat public sector
more and more money wasted never gotten back, our industry is almost gone completely. What will happen?
Sure may look good for a bit, give the jobless a boost and the economy a kick but for every 10 billion borrowed and put in only a percentage will come back and then what?
worse than it is now, as i said before money cannot be infinite forever, something will suffer NHS, pensions, benefit payments something will have to give.
Giving the public blank cheques and what they want is easy, managing it is very difficult and everything is a delicate balancing act whatever you thought of Maggie she deserves some respect as IMO and obviously the opinion of the blairs of this world (who didnt open mines or take steel works ect back to goverment owned) the country was better off with most decisions she made.
And to anyone who mentioned poverty they dont know the meaning of it.
Me nanna used to live in slums before Nhs, benefit and council homes. Used to sell pickles to make money, if they needed a doctor they had to knock on doors to try and get money together. Nothing for free before the war
We dont know how lucky we have it, yet still everyone always wants more but do less for itComment

Me No understand, who said poverty was good.? Poverty is never goodSo anyone who went through poverty had it good ? the workers where the enemy with in she made london the money capital of the world if you were rich you got richer, its still happening now every mp is a lieing cheating self obsessed **** you, you dont matter piece of shit the only people to trust is your self end off how many mp's kids have died in a war not many so **** them.........
My point was that other people mentioned mass poverty, my point was with welfare nhs and housing benefit people dont know what it is, try living in the 30's or in Irish famine
I thought London was that way before Maggies times it truly was the world capital of the biggest empire in history, our heritage is built on liars cheats pirates and pillagers.the workers where the enemy with in she made london the money capital of the world if you were rich you got richer, its still happening now every mp is a lieing cheating self obsessed **** you, you dont matter piece of shit the only people to trust is your self end off how many mp's kids have died in a war not many so **** them.........
BS is not a modern thing, they just get caught out more nowadays
And after giving the world riches we are now slowly becoming the fall guys, watching countries like china eclipse us doing what we did 200 years ago make things to export all over the world
Now we are left with costs to high for export sales and and economy that largely only works by borrowing money to give to nhs, pensioners, welfare and public sector then getting a bit of it back in tax and vatComment

THE TRUTH
The Hillsborough Independent Panel. 12/09/12
Today's report is black and white. The Liverpool fans were not the cause of the disaster.
The panel has quite simply found 'no evidence' in support of allegations of 'exceptional levels of drunkenness, ticketlessness or violence among Liverpool fans' and 'no evidence that fans had conspired to arrive late at the stadium' and 'no evidence that they stole from the dead and dying'.Comment

Just out of interest regarding mines, its inevitable they would close in somebodys reign they are not infinitite. What would happen then?
North was made on pit and mill towns
Time changes things move with them or bust
Maybe one reason our car industry crashed we were still using engines from the 40's in the 70's
One thing booms as another dies internet and big supermarkets killing the high street.
Maybe when China is full of middle class and the factory workers cant be arsed with sweatshops anymore its beneath them, life will come back full circle and the mill towns may all start again exporting to china as cheap labour
and the chinese will look at label and say cheap 5hit made in englandComment

Strange that the conservatives closed down less mines than Labour yet get more grief. It's even highlighted on the National Coal Board history page saying Labour accelerated the closures. It probably stems from the education in those days. Kids knew they could walk into a mining job so left school with no quals. When the loss making pits were closed they were obviously unemployable except for in the most menial jobs. They were then easily brainwashed by the Unions and Labour to think it was Maggies fault.
As for screwing our manufacturing industry you'd have to be thick to think you can pay your employees high wages, use expensive fuels to power the factories, then sell your goods at a price to make it viable when you can get the same stuff from oversees at a fraction of the cost. The only people that could buy your goods would be British and only then if it was made illegal to import the same goods.
Due to Maggies foresight we've now more money to spend on the true poor that need our help. If we'd listened to the Unions and Labour there would be no money left to pay benefits etc.
As for the ones that moan that there's no jobs where they live due to industries closing, why live in a jobless area all your life when if you had an ounce of inteligence or self respect you'd follow the work ? They must be the kind of people if they went for a pint of milk and there was none left in the shop they wouldn't go to another shop along the road.Last edited by Snowy79; 21 April, 2013, 22:52.Comment
